I do call most of the shots about the charity. He's my prince consort, one could say. Like Prince Philip, and I like it. That's what I need. Married lady tip With a 1 and 1/2 year old toddler 😅 On a 5 day vacation we make sure 1 day is mom day 1 day is dad day. So on my day I love to do a spa day and find a little cafe and read or nap while dad does activities with our daughter. On dad day my husband enjoys golfing or just napping all day while I have baby. We then meet up in the evening for dinner. I absolutely LOVE splitting the days to have a “me day.”

This may be one of my fav videos you’ve posted yet! I ALWAYS tell ppl, “travel together before you get married or end up in a long-term relationship”. You learn so much about the other person. My husband and I have been together for 10yrs and have been on 40+ vacations together during that time.. we travel SO well together bc we DO communicate our “wants” out of the trips we have planned. I’m more like you, I prefer the luxury, he is more outdoorsy- typical guy stuff. But we always take turns picking excursions. Like next year we are going to Europe. I know HOW important it his for him to visit Normandy, but he knows I’m looking forward to a leisurely boat ride down the canals in the Netherlands. And we are both pumped to do what the other one wants to do! Additionally we love our alone time too! Some days I’ll sleep in while he explores, and sometimes in the evening I’ll find a local casino, etc! Alone time is a MUST too!

ok, bathroom hacks :) should be all combined ➡️ - turn on the bath vent - turn on a bit of music or podcast - spray toilet bowl water with smth like poopuri/fragrance mist. it should create a fragrance “trap” on the water upper level - next throw a bit of toilet paper in the bowl, but it shouldn’t sink (the paper will diminish the sound, i.e it takes the catch on itself) - now you can do #2 :)) or 2nd option - you just flush at the same time as you do #2 - after flushing, spray a bit more of your mist on the toilet or curtains or walls. that should work fine 😀 you can also ask him to put his headphones on and listen to smth cause you want to go to the bathroom and you are shy :)) that can work too :)

My bf asked me to go on vacation with him 3 hours after you posted this. Perfect timing, Shallon! 😆 Questions to ask when you run out of things to talk about: 1. What's your favorite compliment you've ever been given? 2. What do you think about AI? Would you befriend a chatbot if you were lonely? Read an AI written book? 3. What's the first thing you notice about a new person? (Great if you're people watching) 4. When is the last time you felt awe? What inspired it? Art? Nature? Music? God? Meditating? 5. What are you grateful for? 6. Do you notice when other guys try to establish themselves as the alpha male? What does that feel like from your perspective? 7. If society fell apart, who would you go to, to try to survive together? 8. Are you different in different social contexts? Do you feel like you're a different person at work compared to with me or with your family? How so? 9. What is something funny you were afraid of as a child? 10. Do you feel like you experience life more in your head, in your body, or equally in both? 11. What was the best win or the worst loss you had in a game (in childhood)? 12. If you have siblings, what characteristics of theirs did you admire growing up? Or now? 13. Who has the healthiest relationship you've seen? Your parents? Your best friend and their SO? Your boss and their SO? Your neighbors? 14. If you wrote a book/made a movie, what would it be about? 15. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to switch careers? What would you want to do instead? 16. Have you ever been hit on in public? What did that feel like? Was it funny? Awkward? Flattering? Have you ever miserably failed at asking someone out? 17. Have you ever met someone famous? 18. How long do you want to live? Why? Would you want to be frozen and wake up in 200 years? 19. If you could go to space, would you? On vacation? To work for 6 months? Permanently? 20. What's the best meal you've ever eaten? The worst? The weirdest?

Shallon, I think a quality you bring to travel that I admire in you is your curiosity and how you marvel at the world. That's such an important quality that for me is HUGE in the travel test. It's 'does your partner have a sense of adventure and genuine curiosity or do they want to do the same things they do at home, just on a beach?' I'm not here to judge people who are less curious, but I think the types of people who travel to dive into another language, try difference foods, meet new people, just take on discovery, will be miserable with the folks who are less curious and tied to their known comforts and routines.

I think the conversations really depend on both sides contributing. One year I had to take multiple trips with my mom, where we would never run out of topics. And that's even when we had to do ~5-6 hours every other week for months. But I did a six hour drive for a trip with my dad once and by the end I had nothing more to say. He didn't really initiate any topics, occasionally he would add onto a topic he would be more interested in. A week later when we had to take two hours on our way back, we talked a bit about what happened during the week and then nothing. Six hours of continuous talking with little to no breaks or outside contribution is apparently my limit. (Let me point out that I was instructed to keep my dad alive and not asleep during the drive as he isn't really used to such long car trips with no breaks, so it's not like I just talked his ear off with no reason behind it) I mentioned everything I heard of or read about recently, every possible interesting topic I could find, stories about my friends and our other family members. I was squeezed absolutely dry by the end. With another person actively contributing I could probably go on for days. My mom is extremely talkative (much more than I am, I'd say) and we NEVER run out of topics. And we literally live together and talk day to day, so we already should know almost everything about one another.

I actually think close-ended questions are better. Instead of "How have you been liking our vacation so far?", it's easier and more fun to answer, "What are the top three things you enjoyed best so far?" or "Can you name me one good thing and one bad thing that's happened today/this week/this month/this year?" or "If you could do something differently during this vacay, would would it be?" It really gets people thinking. I especially saw this when I was a language teacher. People tend to close up during vaguer questions, whereas close-ended questions lead to more specific, close-ended questions. During dates, "Tell me a little bit about yourself' doesn't in fact tell as much as much, "What was the best/worst part of your day?" The latter also gives us a sneak peek into one's day to day life rather than just the generic stuff they'd normally represent.

One topic I would love to explore is what a guy says during sex and how seriously to take it. I used to believe if a guy says he loves you for the first time during sex, it doesn’t count, but a co-worker told me if he does if you have been seeing each other for a while.

I can't share a bathroom with the person i sleep with. Not even the same room for over 6 hours. Deal breakers.

Omg the bathroom thing 🤣 I’m the same way! I’ve never done any kind of gross bodily function in front of a bf and don’t plan on it, like leave a bit of mystery and sexiness in the relationship . My tips are that I’ve trained my body to go #2 right before my daily morning shower so by the time I get out of the bathroom it’s completely fresh smelling like soap/shampoo etc. If I can’t do that for whatever reason I copy the jailbirds and do the “courtesy flush” then I put a bit of mouthwash in the toilet bowl and flush it a couple more times (the alcohol from the mouthwash kills any smells). I also keep the sink or shower running while using the bathroom so no noises can be heard lol I’m super private what can I say 🤷🏻♀️

I agree…and football players that play more offense, like running backs, are some of the most chiseled men you’ll ever see in sports . It’s the linemen that are fat lol

I hate to debunk the airport test, but I'm gonna have to debunk the airport test. My ex-husband successfully navigated a lot of international airports for and with me - and handled crises like a champ, I still miss him in a crisis. Outside that though he spent 7 out of our 8 year marriage unemployed, depressed and playing World of Warcraft; yes - I was the idiot who though the loved me enough to change himself for the better - exactly because I'd seen him do better in crises and high pressure environments. How wrong I was.

I asked this to one of my boys and it turned into such a fun conversation that we check back in on from time to time: If you were a dictator and able to run your land however you saw fit, what would that look like?

7 pairs of shoes for 6 days in Italy with my boyfriend 3 weeks ago and wore them all. The only woman who looked better than me was a woman in Rome wearing Prada pumps. And my boyfriend knew how good I looked too.

I was in Sri Lanka during the Easter bombing in 2019. It ruined my relationship. He wasn't just troublesome, he made the situation life-threatening. And it couldn't be fixed again. Now I had seen ,that we were not on the same team. Although we tried for a whole year afterwards, that relationship could not be saved

Questions to ask to fill silences - 1) Do you think there's a difference between pretty and beautiful? 2) Why do you think some people like cats vs dogs 3) What is something you always wish you could do better or more? 4) What do you wish people would realize about you? 5) What do you think is the best way to handle bullies? (Or any other generic life problem) So on and so forth. But honestly please be with a partner who also asks these kinds of questions and also revels in discovering life. If he's a grunter, just let him go.

😂 long time sub here, you have been talking about the airport test for years! I’ve used it on every single BF since the first time I heard you explain it. Lost my respect for and dumped dudes over it. Cue my husband - who single handedly moved me & my belongings across several states so I could be closer to him, found us a beautiful apartment by himself, and helped me score the best job I ever had within a month of moving to a whole new city. Needless to say, he is a perfect score on the airport test. There is a caveat I’ve noticed, however, with dudes who pass the airport test with flying colors - they tend to be very much “alpha” and in control, so chicks who have a hard time taking the backseat and letting a very competent man fully lead will face quite a challenge. I will say, in that respect, it might be easier for some to be with a more “moldable” dude you can control, even if the trade-off is that you can’t fully depend on him to take care of you.

No offence Shallon but I don't think you'd have that problem if you would stop dating 21 year Olds, I think most grown men at least over 30 know how to behave at the airport 😂😂😁👌🤭
