It is natural to ask, when can a function f(x) be represented by a power series? We give an answer to this question via Taylor's theorem. In particular, we'll find a formula for the resulting power (or Maclaurin) series. Unfortunately, it may not converge to the function. However, Taylor's theorem gives a way of checking if it does by expressing how much the partial sums in the Maclauring series differ from the function.
