Other people who do gameboyified or 8-bit songs while they sound 8-bit they dont sound like they are from something old, this sounds like a real gameboy.
@WhoJustFatposted
Жыл бұрын
The ones that don't understand how 8-bit works will typically take a MIDI, put them through random square waves, sawtooth waves, things that sound "arcade-y", then use some pseudo-8bit drum kits like GXSCC. After mixing this frankenstein of random samples, they listen to it, go "close enough", and post it. The ones that upload these video will either: - Compile a track written in MML to the native hardware - Use a user-friendly tool that can compile while showing the user what the music looks like. - Alternatively there's FamiTracker for the NES, but it still has FDS which sounds just like the WAVE track on a Game Boy. It won't compile for a Gameboy, but it works just fine when it's an upload on youtube.

@@legend_of_ozzy2525 lol that would be perfect, the overture is about the napoleonic invasion of continental europe, and the final showdown between napoleon's grand army and his puppet governments vs the russian imperial army and the russian victory, repelling them all the way back to france and reinstalling the french monarchy with the british; tchaikovsky was asked by the tsar to compose a piece commemorating it and this was it (tho he was a pacifist iirc so made the song rly over the top and was pissed that it was such a hit lol)

Not quite how public domain works, I'm afraid. The original score is public domain, as are any recordings made at the time (if any) and their copies. Deriviative works like this one, however, are still intellectual property of… deriviative authors, if that what it's called? I dunno, I am not a lawyer. What I *do* know us that Winnie The Pooh cartoon is still property of Disney, even though the original story by Alan Milne is already in public domain. It could still be public domain if the arranger says they release they work to public domain, though. But that's an important if.
@jno7

@@rgal Ofc you can't just use this arrangement without asking the artist lol He owns all the rights. He used the public Domain Work and created a new work of his own. But after contacting them about it, you could theoretically use it in any game you want, other than remakes of newer Songs.

In the midst of writing this, I changed my Dislike into a Like. Not as a result of having actually enjoyed the song, but rather as a result of realizing that a good amount of work was indeed put into this, But nevertheless, my ears Hurt for godsake, there lies something about the sounds used in this Video, and 8-bit as a whole, that I utterly despise. Besides, the beginning ear-piercingly high pitched sounds which give the Impression your Ear has just been penetrated with a knife. But as a result of the effective Elimination of all forms of after-sound, and the distinctive before-sound instruments made by the Flute, and other Wind Instruments, makes the entire song.. Ignorable, in a way. No emotion is felt with the Natural progression of the song, and it becomes blended into a dull and eerie ghost of the original Glory of the song, with the use of the Entire Orchestra. Fuckin'ell, but nevertheless, well done.

But it is completely true that most interpretations I've heard cannot get the cannon timings right haha. It's funny how professional he was to create such a banger without love
