Digital trends review isn’t as granular as Rtings review. I like Denison review as I find him very entertaining but even he admitted that the H9G is a way brighter and more pop in your face contrast TV with better local dimming than the R series. What made little sense was how he justified at the end preferring the R635 as his personal preference even though he admitted he was splitting hairs and they were both great? I had watched digital trends video comparing these exact two TVs and he came out saying TCL was better. I went to rtings website to check out their reviews and saw that they had things flipped. Seeing now that a 55" TCL was compared against a 65" Hisense, it makes more sense. Digital trends even talked in his head to head about how he thought the 65" TCL was so much better than the 55" TCL. Really thinking about the TCL because it seems like the most affordable entry point for next gen. The new consoles aren't going to use the full bandwidth of HDMI 2.1 and the combination of 4k60 and 1080p/1440p120 should suit them just fine in theory. Digitaltrends said there was a firmware update that so it supports freesync but they're the only ones I've seen mention that? The Hisense seems like a good choice if you aren't worried about gaming but it has zero next gen features. It would be fine if you're sticking with PS4pro or One X. Why is everyone not concerned about the origin of these TVs? Quality issues, environmental issues, and most importantly security issue. They are cheap for a reason. Perhaps the TV is recording exactly what you are doing, recording your voice, and is sending your address and collecting all the data from your home.
@HisenseCA
4 жыл бұрын
We certainly don't and can't record anything on our TVs. We sometimes collect crash info to help the team find out what went wrong. You can turn off all of the data collection (except the standard Android stuff from Google) in the settings. We dunno about those other guys though.

I'm looking to buy a new tv, like one of those, but I'm worried that it will look bad due to slow internet, and dvd watching movies. I use Netflix and Amazon prime streaming, and my internet is barely fast enough for 720p on a good day (3.5Mbps, megaBITS, not megabytes). Faster internet is not available in my area. If I bought a 65 or 75 inch 4k tv, I'm assuming it will look horrible. Is that correct?

I got a TCL 75” not too picky with visual experience will probably use it for switch games mostly and some Netflix. But this review has me questioning it haha but since it has better sound and I didn’t get a sound bar I guess it’s alright. But it cost 800$ +tax and the hisense 75” only costs 710$ +tax. Oh well all I cared about was the good price point and the size really. Could have saved that $100 and gotten a sound bar. But I did also just get a $50 target gift card I wonder if they sell sound bars there ? lol

Ive had the h9g in 55 inches, and i can tell you, its absolutely overrated here. It was so much worse than my Aero 15 with a 396 nit display had a better hdr image. More detail too. Im getting the TCL now and i dont think you should regret it. These tests arent that indictive. I'll let you know though how it compares, as i also have the LG c1 OLED, so i have a good standard, but i have a good feeling about TCL.

Hisense H9G's picture quality is comparible to a lot of OLED TV's so think again also every review of the TCL 6 series says it's the best TV under $1,000 when it's not. TCL paid all the big KZitemr's for their reviews because the H9G blows the TCL out of the water in picture quality I've used and seen both with my own eyes.

@@RTINGSdotcom oh wow thanks on sdr yes very similiar and real scene but I mean the peak brightness on a 25 percent window is just over 1k for the tcl 6 series and for the h9g its over 1700 which is 700 nits higher and the 10 percent window is much higher on the h9g at over 1400nits also for hdr im talking of course but thanks for the info was just wondering

The TCL 55 has 128 backlighting zones while its bigger cousin, the 65 has 240 zones. I suspect that the Hisense 65 also has a lot more zones than just 128. Also, the TCL 55 in my area is $650 while the Hisense 55 is a whopping $950 to $1,100!

Everyone should be aware of the myriad of issues present on the H9G as of the most recent software/firmware update. Significant problems with local dimming, halos, and contrast. Hisense is also notorious for poor customer service. I have returned my H9G and trying to find a TV that won't be an absolute sink.
