Hey Abby, this looks like one of those so, so TVS. If you are a average Joe consumer then this QM7 would be a decent TV for them. I would save up a little bit more and go the QM851G which I've heard is a awesome TV for a little more money. i believe the QM851G has even been on sale lately and it may be further reduced in price by Black Friday and the holiday season.😊

Best Buy just had the 65" version of the QM7 for $599 a few weeks back, and I'm sure they'll have it again going into the holidays (55" was $499). There's no TV that competes with this in that price range.

I still don't get the handling of reflections rating. For instance when I went to the store I thought Bravia 9 was the worst because every light caused a streak across the entire screen which was extremely distracting compared to others. The one shown here seem better to me than the perfect mirror reflection of something like a C4 oled.

I'd be interested in your recommendations when it comes to 75” size. In that size, please rate the TCL QM7 and QM8 and the Hisense U8N and U7N. All 2024 models. We’ll be wanting one of those 4 and hope to enjoy it for a few years.

Great video! Love rtings! My friend has this model but is having trouble with some of the settings. On a single input, when content from Apple TV changes from SDR to HDR, the settings will carry over. Example - let’s say he has movie mode selected and has brightness at 42 in SDR. When content switches to HDR, and the TCL is in HDR10 movie picture mode, the brightness stays at 42 because it brought over settings from SDR. Which seems too low in HDR. TCL seemed to confirm this is how it’s meant to perform as well. Is this something you guys noticed or dealt with when calibrating your model? Do you know if the Hisense U7N allows for dedicated settings whether in SDR or HDR on the same input? Thanks!

I just recently purchased a 55" TCL QM751 which is VERY similar (visually indistinguishable, but with a lower refresh rate) to one of the models in the Korean report on a lack of QDs in TCL tvs. Do we know if the three in the report were the only models tested, or did others pass? I hope someone will test the color spectrum of models sold in the US to determine if they have suitable levels of QDs. I'm liking the TV so far, although managing the picture settings between sources and picture modes is awkward and frustrating.
