Another great game with a unique premise and awesome historical value!!! Love the teamwork aspect of the game, and the space race theme really resonates with me!!! Vague rules could be a problem...but nothing that an errata/FAQ page on the manufacturer's website or a reissue/pdf manual revision release couldn't fix! BTW, congratulations of your collaboration with Academy Games!!! maybe you could proofread the manual for this game and edit it for clarity and consistency? I'm sure your game will be a historical one!!! Will there be miniatures involved? Or dice? I'm sure there is some sort of NDA in place, but are there any details that you could tell us at this point?!! I'm really intrigued!!! Superb review; as always, and I loved that bit at the end!!! It gave me incredible B-movie vibes!!!

At this point all I can mention is that it revolves around the Congress of Vienna. I'll let you know more when I can.

Thanks for the review, Cody. There is another new space themed game that just came out as well. Can’t remember the name off hand, but that one is not a worker placement style game.

Oh wow - crazy to hear about your game in dev. Thats awesome and good luck! Academy games has been moving up for me since Underground...I know I'm late to the party but their games are usually fun and pretty easy to grasp.

Think I will pass on this game. If I am not having fun with the game right away and have to re- read the rules and search for rules a lot, I pass. Looks like they did a nice job on the game. You did a nice video, a little back and forth in the review part near the end. Glad to hear about you designing a game. I look forward to seeing it in the future. Please keep us in the know of how it's going. Good luck and God's speed on it.

As regards "back and forth," I can only tell you what I think, and sometimes it's not completely black and white. As my game develops going forward, I'll release more info, for sure.

I dunno... has Academy games *ever* put out an official FAQ? Anyway, that was a solid review. I'm an Ameritrasher like you, but also dabble in the Euros whenever the game's setting appeals to me. So I backed this title only for its setting and that it's published by Academy games. So thanks to your review, I have a more informed expectation for when I eventually get it to the table. Perhaps I'll simply wait for that official FAQ before playing it. And wait, and wait, .... :)

@@seatravelers That's awesome news! I have four other Academy Games titles and am personally not aware of an official FAQ for any of them. So it's refreshing to hear that a FAQ is in the works for this!

@@bgm-1961 Looking at their website, it looks like about half of them do. I don't think any of the "Birth of" games have a FAQ but it looks like the "Conflict of Heroes" games do and their most recent release "Agents of Mayhem" does also. They're good people to work with, and I know they want to do right for their customers. Its really hard to write a bullet proof rule book. Especially when you have a game with as many moving parts as this one. Until the FAQ is put on their website, I have been answering questions on the BGG forums here.... boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/282227/one-small-step/forums/0 Maybe that will help clear some of the smoke.
