Hello TDP. Usually listen to the podcast but thought I’d drop by to say hello. I thought this finale suffered from the same thing pretty much every double episode. Set up an impossible cliffhanger and then resolve it in two seconds with some spacey wacey Timey Wimey nonsense such as magic gloves and rope. This series ws very uneven with I think my favorite episode being 72 yards (or however many it was!) It’s a shame the current stuff isn’t giving you the same enthusiasm as some of the old. Seeing as all the old stuff is now on iPlayer how about picking some of your favourites to watch and review. That would give a reason to go back and watch some of the old ones I’ve never seen knowing I’d have a lovely TDP episode to listen to afterwards. Be seeing you.

Wife and I have been rewatching TNG this year. Happened to watch the episode Lower Decks yesterday after just having seen Empire of Death. Wife pointed out that RTD2 had over nine hours to make us care about Ruby Sunday. Meanwhile, Lower Decks had us in tears over a character we'd met only 40 minutes prior. I realize this comparison isn't remotely fair, but if Doctor Who is going to survive, the writing has to improve to at least 2005 levels. We know RTD can do it. The real question is, why is he not?

That episode (lower decks) is stuff of legends, I agree the writing of TNG at times was brilliant especially engaging at a emotional level.

Wow! No, it has no impact on my mood whatsoever, because I'm really not a fan anymore. Early RTD revived my interest for a while: but he has evidently said everything he has to say about "Doctor Who"; and none of the writers in the RTD1/2 interregnum had owt to say in the first place. Furthermore, I'm going to have to give up listening to your reviews of "Disney Who", (assuming you do review the next season,) because it's distressing to hear you so cheesed off. Big Finish reviews and other TDP content I continue to look forward to. "For Your Consideration" doubly so.
