In Alabama and a few other southern states, they disable the catch on Gas Pumps. Some law was passed after to many people over filled unattended cars. I learned this after a N/S trip in a gas guzzling small RV that had a 20 gal tank and got 11 to the gallon. We had to pull over every 3 hours for fuel.

The folks on those grounds are very hospitable. It is one of the natures of monks of the Benedictine order (OSB) to be very guest oriented. Where you are is very near the home of the EWTN network. There are also Franciscan nuns and friars very nearby. They have a LOT of places to visit.

Glad you enjoyed your visit, hope you have a great time in Alabama, stay safe.

The Ave Maria Grotto was very cool. Ave is pronounced "ah-vey". His style of sculpting is similar to Gaudi who is most famous for The Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. You know I've drawn this comparison before, but your life's work is very similar to Zoettl's...one stone a day for him, one video a day for you. If you keep up with a daily vlogs...what an impressive display of work you will have accomplished in your lifetime.

You did a video in Texas, where you showed a wall made from conch shells by the artist, Dionicio Rodriguez. He also created the Crystal Shrine Grotto in Memphis, TN. It's an incredible place to visit. It's called a grotto, but it's really a large cave that has lots of different nooks you can walk to and see all sorts of work by different artists. Not many people know about the place - sort of a hidden secret. Located at Poplar Avenue and Yates inside the Memorial Park Gardens Cemetery. Really enjoyed this video!!!

the "ave" in "ave maria" is pronounced with two syllables. The first syllable is "ah" as in father and the second syllable is "vay" where the e is pronounced as a long a. In a nutshell remember to use the Spanish vowels when pronouncing the Latin words.

I grew up and still live in Alabama. The Ave Maria Grotto was a place I really loved as a child. The chipmunk crossing was especially fun to see. I never saw a chipmunk use it either. We had so much time back then as kids that we did go visit places like this. My own kids are almost grown and we never found time to go. We could go today, but they have their video games and apps that are so much more important that need attending to.
