I don’t need this (club deluge) but this is a superb and inspiring object for anyone of any age to get into sampling and come out with musical and fun results. Awesome video dude. My unit arrives soon, was wondering if you could post a video of how you installed the fader knob? As there might be a trick to it that would be very helpful to myself and others, to maybe place it in a certain way to reduce the possibility of adding too much pressure, which seems to be where the issue people are having comes from. Thanks again, and keep busting out these awesome videos.

I have it and the fader don’t work from day one, as a MPC Live 2 and sp404 mk 2 owner it is far less convoluted to create a beat with than the others to the extent I would even say the workflow is transparent, the punch in effects are a cool idea Roland and Akai could add such a feature via an update, I like that it’s only 64 mb as it made me focus more on choosing the right sounds as opposed to having gigs of library to choose from meaning you get shit done in a focused way, I can just run it through the SP 404 if I want a lofi effect or through koala sample, I’ve used the editor it’s cool although only online functionality? Maybe they could enable the usb socket to allow a usb hub to save samples onto a card🤔😎 Yeah I like it nice sequencer nice sound😎

I wish i pulled the trigger before it sold out... I've had the OG OP-1 and it kinda looks like this is more of what i wish the Op-1 would be, sampling wise. The 404 MK2, i thought it would be my go to, but it has been collecting dust for months now. I was so happy it could basically do everything i hoped it could do, but now i realise there is a thing as 'too much'. This looks like a way more focused and streamlined device and workflow. and at 2/3 of the price of the MK2, it's hard not to give it a go. and to lo-fi it, lets just go back to sampling at 45 rpm or speed the audio up before sampling, until they add that feature :)

Not the point of your video but the SmplTrek being least favorite got me thinking. Yeah, I'm done with that thing. Just need to get off my lazy butt and list it for sale. So much potential but the workflow is so tedious and I can do anything it does faster on other stuff and the fact that instead of giving us the features we also asked for, they'd rather put those in a "new" box and charge us for it again. I'm cool with my Lofi-12 still but I ain't buying anymore Sonicware stuff. Sorry for the rant. The EP-133 looks pretty great but there are a few missing features from the PO-33 that I'm a little concerned to not see here. Pattern chaining and recording automation of the filter were two of the things I use most on the little one. I really hope they add that later. We will see. I know Mrs. Greer got me one but I have to wait until Christmas to put my hands on it.

You've had the ep133 a whole day and it's your favorite? C'mon son EDIT: also, it wasn't a blatant decision to use rotary encoders, as opposed to endless. It was because during the chip shortage they purchased a surplus of components with the plan to fit them into an idea later. So these units were birthed from a bunch of deadstock components...that's also why they were able to bring it into the market at this price point

Those drum pads are not gonna last. This gadget seems very flimsy.
@JamesReedy
10 ай бұрын
They’re not encoders, they’re potentiometers. They stop because it’s basically a variable voltage divider that goes from 0V to whatever the internal max voltage is and that gets plumbed to an ADC prob thru a mux. The reason for doing this? Pure cost savings. You can have a single ADC line on the micro with a multiplexer scanning the pots. With encoders you need minimum two lines and if you do two lines you do well to have an interrupt tied to one. If you don’t wanna dick with that you use grey code encoders which are 4 lines but you always always know where you are from 0-15. Anyhow engineer rant over, it’s cheap that’s why they did it that way. Also fader gate. IMHO either you break the wiper sled when you install it or you don’t. Don’t push hard, or maybe file the inside of the cap a bit to make it slip on easier. It looks like a really cheap linear pot.

You'll see me in the comments for a while until mine comes in, but the real secret sauce of this machine isn't it's specs...it's the sequencer. Hear me now and believe me later. No 4 or 8 bar limits to a pattern, new scenes stack onto the end so you can literally just create the song on the fly and it's also your song structure at the same time...and then you have 99 patterns per group? On a sub 500 dollar desktop groovebox and not a workstation? Seriously. People can shit on the sampler part, but that sequencer, for people who are okay without the top most of the line and cutting edge sound and just like pushing samples around, this sequencer is a godsend. Being trapped in 8 bar land, at least for me, in hardware grooveboxes for as long as I have, I'm surprised I didn't slit my wrist with a jagged Electribe 2 which shrank it's pattern length from 8 to 4 bars in the 'upgrade'. FFS. So just...that sequencer is gold for anyone who can make shit samplers sound good. Battery powered freedom to sequence off the grid and beyond the 8 bars.. every other damn manufacturer needs to be taking notes and ripping this off.

So like what the hell do you do once you make a beat on it? If it's hooked up to MIDI in on an interface unless I have the exact same samples in my DAW, playing back the beat, sequencing it, err whatever the term is. I'd need to have the exact same samples in my DAW for it to sound the same. So a beat made with the built in drums and samples, how do you get it out of the machine in a usable format with the actual sounds and not just midi notes? Obviously, I don't know shit here, I'm used to making a beat on my MPC One, then when I hook it to the PC I can load it directly in the MPC software and edit it, play it back, whatever. I'm confused about how you use the beats you make with this. It looks super fun and is cheap. Could some MIDI fellow explain this to me? I'm sure it can be done, I just don't have an understanding to know how. And before I buy one I want to understand the post beat process.

It got tap tempo, & tempo find, look at the manual my dude, I swear it’s on there…just tap the tempo button and it’ll do it….and hold sample and tempo to find tempo of incoming sound

My 2 cents is lofi is an easy fx to recreate. Sometimes resampling something maybe pitched up and slowing it back down adds character. Rinse and repeat lol

🤣4:20 🤣 Join us every Wednesday afternoon at 1900 for our sampler self-help group. Perhaps we'll have the chance to meet, and I might bring along a couple of samplers. Feel free to join in! Love it, I'm in.

Beside the MPC, I see the KO knobs and buttons are a lot dinkier and tightly packed than I realized from other photos.

Such a great video you covered eveything. My favourite sampler at the moment is the lofi 12.
