A neighbor of mine requested a Tea Tree Soap because he liked the “tingle” effect he got from a shampoo he had used before with tea tree in it. I went ahead and added some Menthol to this recipe since it is the “tingle” he was after. After saponification and cure time my neighbor was able to test the bar out and he said it didn’t have much of a “tingle” effect so I think I would add more menthol to this recipe in the next batch. I think 4% menthol to soap volume is the max amount that should be used in a recipe. So, back to the drawing board on this one. He did, however, enjoy the light scent.
