I have a much later model 14 inch TEAC with s-video and it’s surprisingly good! Ultra cheap build quality but a very nice picture, great geometry and it’s very easy to get into the service menu on later models for adjustments. Cheaps TVs but as you said some aren’t too bad

Yup. I had a Beko tv that did this. Zero NTSC support. Yet I had an RF only Furguson TV set and even that could do NTSC. That said, it had no issues with PAL RGB via SCART. I guess Aussies aren't really well tooled up for SCART stuff. I got a Toshiba 14" CRT TV mid 00's one. It has an Orion tube. No idea of it's quality or NTSC compatability but it seemed to work ok. I just havn't tried RGB yet.

Their earlier sets were made by Goldstar and most had a Philips IC that was connected for RGB Scart or could be. This model was from memory their first descent into Chinese junk that just got worse through the 90s.

I think the odd Goldstar had scart, though it seems every brand had a scart in a model or two here and there over the years.

A scart tv without RGB? That’s strange 🤔

It's funny how they had the good hifi gear but awful a/v like VCRs and TVs

I think it must be Teac Australia that has liberty to bring over cheap TV brands and relabel as Teac. Whereas the true Teac products like hifi gear your talking about were made by Teac themselves in Japan.

LOL, that's lame, what's the point of having a scart port if it doesn't support RGB? You probably can't even mod it as the OSD is most likely R and G only, some older TVs didn't even have a blue input for the OSD.

Wow no blue input on the osd, that’s insulting

@@rgbrob But not that uncommon, if you notice early OSD would only display green red and yellow (R+G) and that was it. Early 90's Samsungs are an example, I'm talking about non-Teletext TVs though, if the TV had teletext then it would have to have the Blue channel as well.
