Eight episodes, cliffhanger finale, then canceled. Or maybe it'll get a second season, another eight episodes, cliffhanger finale, and then canceled. The story will almost certainly never be resolved because EVERY SINGLE SEASON will end on a cliffhanger, and they will cancel the show before it reaches a conclusion.

Omg, what did they do to Rob McCamm's Stinger? This is so far from Stinger, cant believe it !

There is an interview with the director in which he explains taking it from such a giant story with a large number of characters to a miniature version of that. I loved Stinger. I hope this movie is really good.

Yeah. I still have my original copy of the novel signed by McCammon himself (he's a real friendly guy). It's one of my favorite books, and between this trailer and the interview with Wan, I have very little interest in this now. Wan didn't just shrink the scale. He basically ripped out 80% of the book and replaced it with his own story. This isn't Stinger. Not even close. The only good thing is McCammon finally got one of his novels optioned into a movie (technically) and probably got a nice check from the studio. So good for him. It's about time he got some recognition.

The start of the novel reminds me of the 80s Blob movie with the motorcycle hero. Wish someone would make a movie of his Swan Song, that wud be awesome.

@@tiongkuo1821 Over the years Swan Song has been optioned as a movie a few times, but they could never make it work. Probably because it's as epic as The Stand, and would only really work as a tv mini series. I'd love to see ANY of McCammon's books faithfully adapted to the screen, but they might have to slowly work up to Swan Song. They Thirst, Night Boat or an actual Stinger would be my top choices.

It’s sure hard to argue with the ‘hell in a handcart’ view of the world nowadays but I do remember years when your average chances of finding a good horror movie were about 1 in 50. The average is much much better. I personally credit the whole Creepypasta phenomenon - great horror created by people who were equally sick of seeing such a great genre so badly used. I figured it was just a matter of time before movies and even more so cable took notice and put in the work to stay relevant. So if you think the whole world is going to hell, cheer up. Horror isn’t.

God help us all.... corny jump scares... crappy fast-forward frame-skipping... he's on his last legs thankfully... before you know it, he'll be guest starring in sitcoms and move to radio hosting and then off to the old people's home because he used to be a famous horror director but the nurses don't believe him. The End.
