This is such a good video. I watch many pottery videos to learn but his lesson by far is the most packed with pointers and unique tips I haven't gotten from other teachers, and so well explained! Best teacher yet!

Thank you for watching this long video. Good luck with tea pots.
I procrastinated for months on watching this video because of its length. Now that I have watched it I might even watch it again very soon. Excellent teaching and the humor came for free. I’ll watch more of your videos from now on. Thanks very much for the education on teapots.

Great advise at minute 7:15 ish. That totally makes sense. If it goes wrong, cut your loses. Not everything I do needs to be perfect. If I don't like it, there is no sin or waste, just toss it in the recycle bin, learn from your failure and start again.no one will ever know.

I’ve gone thru several or so videos from this series of the Guild. I’ve run across many where Shimpo RK Whisper wheels were used. For some reason, there have been a few where I didn’t see the handle that is attached to the wheel. Has anyone else or is it just me missing it? Please forgive me for asking what could be an obvious answer. I have the Shimpo wheel that is show here. I’m legally blind but still have light perception. My eyes are damaged due to a retinal disease & optic nerve damage. I miss a lot bc my peripheral vision loss along with my central vision beyond a few inches. Sometimes I wish my wheel had just a foot pedal or Al least one that doesn’t raise my knee as high.

If your wheel will let you i.e. not electric you can throw your spout in left to right then right to left, this will take the twist out and you will not have any drips.

I was watching this with a Chinese teapot master from Yixing, friend of my mother in law, , visiting me in Switzerland where he is giving a seminar and he had very interesting comments about this gentleman here . Your passion is infectious but it lacks precision . Chinese invented teapots and developed every details of the shapes and proportions over 4000 years , and nothing is left to chance . Your pots have a lot of charm but you should read some Chinese books related to teapots . Even the Japanese learned from Chinese masters , they didn't develop the shapes for their teapots randomly .
