Well, I see I am 2 years late and just finding your channel! Nice video and good to know about the shower tents with some places not allowing them. Very cool others recognized you and you found campers there also from another site! This makes me excited to know I may find others when I finally get my teardrop ordered in Mar 2023. I see you have also upgraded tow vehicle and RV now, I will catch up on your adventures. Happy trails!

Thanks so much, and congrats on your teardrop order. I will say that teardrops definitely get attention in campgrounds. We could pretty much figure that every trip we would have at least one person come and ask us about the teardrop. So, finding other folks out there definitely isn’t an issue. There are also teardrop groups such as Tearjerkers. The teardrop community is a very social group of people. Have fun when you get yours, and thanks for watching.

nice to know about shower tents.....is it taking showers that is the issue or is it the tent......can you use it as a cassette toilet

So, we have had conflicting information as to the reason, and what is allowed. The park ranger on this trip told us that the issue was that people with porta-potty's were dumping them at the campsite. That is just gross, and if that were happening, they need to ban those people, and not the tents. We later talked to a camp host at a different COE campground in the region, and he said that he may be the person who was responsible for that rule. His argument was that a shower was no different than an RV dumping their gray water on the ground. In that park, he said there were other campers currently using one with some type of porta-potty, and they were fine with that. On another occasion, I saw a camper that was allowed to have one because they were just using it for gear storage. Anyway, I'm sorry we couldn't give you a better answer, but this is what we've experienced. I would say that your best bet would be to talk to the camp host prior to setting one up, or run the risk of being asked to take it down.

Great video and thanks for sharing the experience. I'm in the queue for.a teardrop build and am very excited to start dragging that thing around and to broaden the scope of my YT channel. Probably will need a channel name change! Considering the name of your channel, can I assume you guys live on the MO side vs AR (my birth state)? I was in the Navy for many years and someone once asked where I was from. When I replied with AR, they told me they had never met anyone from the Midwest. I gave them a puzzled look and told them they still had not, I was from the South. What a difference a few miles can make! Looking forward to catching up on your other vids!

You are correct. We are in MO. It is so funny what people in different areas consider to be the Midwest. I actually saw someone group Ohio into the Midwest the other day. 🤷🏻♂ Anyway, congrats on your upcoming teardrop, and thanks for watching!

Bummer they made you take down the shower tent. If all you are doing is using it as a potty place though, maybe you can set up a small Coleman dome tent or something if they allow those 🤷🏼♀️ Great video as always, looks like you guys had a wonderful time!

Thanks! We actually do use it for a shower, so we would need something to stand in. It's not a huge deal. We were basically trying to limit our exposure to the shower house due to COVID. The showers are being cleaned frequently, though, so I don't think they are a huge risk. However, even the ranger agreed that they picked a strange time to put that regulation in place.

Midwest Journeys certainly understand that, we don’t have a shower in our aframe either and I haven’t been brave enough during CoVid to try the shower house yet. Can’t wait until this is all over

Oh, no! Hopefully the forecast changes. We had RVillage and Nomad Near Me, but decided that we had a hard enough time remembering to check in on one app, so we got rid of Nomad Near Me. 😁 Look us up on RVillage! We are on there as (Chris & Tammy (Midwest Journeys)).

Thanks! We actually started looking at Hiker Trailers, but at the time, there was around an 18 month wait to get one. We were very limited as to what to get, because it had to be able to fit in our garage. The T@g checked all of the boxes, and as we researched them, we were impressed with the positive stories about nuCamp customer service. We also have a nuCamp dealer about 40 miles away, and I couldn’t be happier with our experience there. Honestly, after 2 years, I can’t think of another RV that can fit in our garage that I would rather have.

@@MidwestJourneys At first, I was looking at the Casita campers. However, it wouldn't fit in my garage or be as easy to manually move around. So I completely understand! I've always been more of a tent camper, recently roof top tent camping. However, with me now looking at campers, I am very impressed at the finish quality that NuCamp seems to provide. Its definitely pricier than say Hiker or Runaway trailers. But the amount of quality it provides, may be worth the price increase for me. I'm glad to hear the stories I hear about NuCamp are turning out to be true!

We were also tent campers prior to buying the T@g (ground tents). We finally got to a point where we were tired of sweating all night in the Summer, and Tammy has allergy issues, so it is better for her to sleep in a more controlled environment. I will say that when we started looking, we went by the motto “we just need a place to sleep”. However, after having some trips where it rained two days straight, I greatly appreciate the little extra room the T@g provides over some of the smaller teardrops. The one other teardrop brand that has caught my attention lately are Bean Trailers. However, I think they are quite a bit more pricey than the T@g.

We were backpackers prior to having a camper, so we really like the solitude that provides. Boondocking is often the same, as far as being able to be out in a somewhat secluded location. However, we do like having electricity in the summer for the air conditioning. 😁 As far as the shower tent, the ranger told us that some people had been using porta-pottys in those tents, then dumping them on the ground, which resulted in the ban on the shower tents. The campground showers were open, so we were able to use those. We were just trying to limit our exposure to them. Thanks for watching!
