Thanks the rear door is aluminum and I put brakes on because it helps a lot when you come down steep long hills in the mountains. As for pulling it the Jeep dose fairly well you don’t want to be in a hurry. And when I am out exploring with my Jeep and trailer I never am .

My design is similar in profile. In the back my frame angles upward 45 degrees to match the box. Its then capped off with a 4" square rear bumper.

Nailed it my man!!! Qustion your rear hatch door is it plywood? And how is it pulling it with your jeep, And is that why you put brakes on it? I have a 2 door jk. That's why I'm asking. And really an awesome job!!

Did you use fiberglass tape on the corners before you Raptorlined it? It looked like you resined it but couldn't tell

I used Raptor truck bed liner. It is a spray on kit and I highly recommend it.

I see you sprayed it with the black kit but did you paint over it with the grey? If so what paint? I was thinking about doing concrete paint over mine to cool the black down.

Joey Fingers the kit was tinted so I did not need to paint it afterwards.

Hakan Karakaya I am very happy with the results the trailer has over 10000 km on it now . It is a 5 by 9 and if I was to build one again it would be all aluminum to get the weight down .

The walls are plywood then coated with clear penetrating epoxy and then Raptor truck bed liner. I have since put aluminum on the roof and am going to put on the sides dew to cracking at the joints. ,

The Raptor truck bed liner looks like a great idea for the coating. How many gallons did you use to get the job done, and did you roller it or spray it? Thanks for any info.

garyweglarz just a heads up the spray on liner on one side has cracked a lot but not on the other side. I am going to be wrapping the trailer with thin sheet aluminum in the near future.

I got the door out of the states and it was a hassle. The company I used when 0it of business and the were awfull to deal with. I am in Revelstoke.

GFOFO Goncalves Hello the Raptor liner started cracking in the first year on one side of the trailer but the other side is doing good . I think it is more to do with the plywood than the liner. I am going to be putting aluminum on the sides next year.

Cory Glenn Thanks. The trailer weighs about 1800 lb load and yes it is a bit slow in the mountains but I am never in a hurry when I am pulling it.

Cory Glenn yes that is what I was thinking if I was to build one again . The axle is a 3500 lb and it has been great so far although I did break a leaf spring this summer.

Well the truck bed liner is starting to crack but only on one side . It looks like it is the plywood that is making it crack. Every thing else is great. Pulled it down to Utah this summer putting 5000 km on and not a problem.

Hello the Raptor liner is good on one side and not the other . The corners have opened up a tiny bit but not bad. Yes I used clear penetrating epoxy first. I have added aluminum to the roof and will be adding it to the sides next year. If I had it all to do over again I would build the whole thing out of aluminum.

@@kevinrusso6849 no I never taped the corners . But it would have been a good idea in hind sight. In the spring I will set the trailer up and do an update so everyone can see how it has held up and evolved.

I will agree this is a nice small trailer but it is not actually a tear drop. Tear drop got their name due to the fact they are shaped like a year drop not a rectangle.
