Azlin Rell is proving to be a fantastic addition to the overall Star Wars canon even beyond the High Republic. He's so creepy and he's basically the epitome of what can happen to someone who goes too far in the service of a righteous fight.

As for other timeline placements, I suspect that Vol. 3 of The Edge of Balance manga takes place after Tears of the Nameless given the things that happen with Azlin Rell in that story (and Reath's behavior towards Azlin in that story also lends credence to this theory). As for the main comic, I think at least the first arc takes place before Wave 2 seeing as Churo mentions the events of that arc during the first chapter of Beware the Nameless. Either way, it's the trickiest Phase III story (along with Saber for Hire) to figure out timeline-wise because of a lack of acknowledgment of other stories (Boolan gets captured at the end, but the blight is not even acknowledged, but on the other hand, Boolan's base shown in Tears of the Nameless shows signs of being Shingcu Station from the comic without being explicitly named; it's possible Tempest Breaker might answer this and show us Boolan escaping custody).

As someone who just doesn't have the time to keep up with the High Republic novels(and all of the novels at this point), despite how much I loved the first phase, I've come to rely on your reviews to at least get the Cliffs Notes of them. I'd love more in-depth spoiler reviews for all Star Wars novels. I definitely understand why that might be a bit much to add on with how much you and Mollie already do. No matter what: keep up the great work!

You could listen to the audiobooks while you do other things so you can get the full story.

I've tried audiobooks. Even when they are well done and I'm enjoying the story, I have trouble staying tuned in. I know that that's entirely on me, though

I loved Vernestra’s portrayal in this book. She’s matured since phase one and this Tears make it even more apparent. She seems to line up more with her portrayal in the Acolyte. I can see how the Young Knight in this book becomes the stern, closely guarded master a century later

I'm a huge fan of Claudia Gray's work in Star Wars so her contributions to The High Republic have been my favorite; but, George Mann really created something exceptional with this book. Tears of the Nameless is right up there with Into the Dark and The Fallen Star as my favorite books in this series. I cannot wait to see how the rest of the Echoes of Fear series ties into this story!

I really wish Lucasfilm and Disney didn’t make the high republic in 99.9% comic and book formats. Yeah it’s good enough but Star Wars at its core is cinematic, a space opera with marvellous effects. I truly believe that in late 2010’s if Disney/Lucas film went all in with a thought out plan for a high republic trilogy, incorporate the better ideas from the acolyte to really make it feel a prequel to the skywalker saga, and they could’ve had another prequel like trilogy to inspire a new generation and sell toys etc. But I think a lot of fans have turned off now

And neither on kindle (in my region). Their release strategy is annoying, but I guess it’s classical book publishing, first hardcover and later ebooks and audiobooks

I've been buying everything as it released. Finally catching up with reading. Getting some of the Adventures comics in the UK has been hell, but I'm almost into phase 2.

Reading George Mann’s acknowledgments at the end really contextualized Reath’s journey as well. I’m glad you’re doing better George and that you know you’re not alone!
