Thanks for the great info! I haven’t played out for 2 years but getting a new band ready to go, and I must say, the more I play around and use my TouchMix 16, the more I love it! I’m playing bass and vocals and running the board, so I needed something compact, yet powerful and versatile. The presets help so much both as a starting point and understanding where to scoop out and why. Thanks again

It’s Brad! This was a great video-very informative. I liked the advice about cutting the low end when EQing. Using presets and tweeking seems to be the way to go

@@bhwhprods So far so good! Live application with a rock band. Power trio with some additional instruments on occasion. Runnin' a complete QSC rig. K12.2, KS118, K8.2 for wedges. So far this rig sounds so much better than my previous rig.

Hey, what about electronic drums ? I'm getting more and more high-end Roland kits where I only get a Left & Right feed. The drummer may have 5, 6, 7 different drum kits that they will use in a night. The other issues is they have usually done their own EQ & ambience per patch. So what about a preset or two for a stereo drum feed from an electronic kit as a starting point - food for thought

Hi , in those cases you would normally have them come in flat to the fader eq wise, Most of those instruments employ compression as std so that would be another setting you wouldnt normally apply, I suppose the Preset would make linking 2 channels faster but other than that..

Thanks John, that's exactly what I do today. I find that there can be inconsistent volume between kits as well as lack of bottom end between each patch. I have one drummer that has the top line Rowland kit plus a high-end drum pad. his volumes are all over the place so I have had to use compression/limiter to try and level things out. Same thing with guitar players who use profilers/modelers, in consistent patch levels between clean & driven patches. Love the board and being able to give each band member a tablet to control their own monitor mix is killer!

Informative vid, but clipping yourself all the way through is bad practice 😩.
