If you ever get a real stubborn top hat washer stuck in a sprocket lay the sprocket flat on table with the big side of the washer sticking up toward you now tap the back of the ratchet with something or just swing down the ratchet so the socket taps the washer it’ll fall right out. Makes life easy whenever you get that little annoying washer stuck. Never let a stupid washer slow you down from an install again 😂 the one in the video luckily came out with some wiggles but I’ve had some really bad stuck ones that wouldn’t budge without tools

Thanks isaac, I just subbed the other day and started saving and looking for my own big 29👍👍, hopefully I can find one one craigslist or marketplace because I don't have 700 to 1000 dollars right now.. I've been seeing all the teenagers riding them so hopefully maybe someone will be selling one because they are getting their license

Check offerup, Craigslist, and Facebook marketplace for sure. Might want to call some shops locally and let them know you’re looking for a used 29er. Someone might come in and get a new one and selling their current bike. Good luck🤘

Box 2 is the one I went with and I do not regret it, it has great engagement and amazing sounds, the only thing was wrong with it is that it did come a little sticky but after a little tear down of it I got it nice and lubricated.

@BigBikeBMX

@@BigOwl530 the gearing will be light, but yes. Big ripper is 19mm spindle. As long as your sprocket is 19mm or has a spacer to make it fit (top hat washer)

Question, I have the 2021 OM flyer and bought ROS sprocket. The factory sprocket also had the top hat spacer and just like you doesn’t require it on the ROS sprocket. But when I tighten the retaining bolt into the spindle it doesn’t screw in all the way. The bolt feels like it stops. Should this require some force?
@BigBikeBMX

It shouldn’t. I’d put the old sprocket back on to test it. See if it goes in with the old sprocket and if you need a spacer. 💁♂️

Got a question for you.. when you saw the white 2020 performer at your favorite shop.. does it look like a kids bike? Or did it look like an adult can ride it.. I really like the bike and would like to buy it but dont want it if it is too small.. there's not much sizing info on any site I go on
@BigBikeBMX

The GTs are definitely big. Pictures don’t do them justice because you’ve got the 20 inch bikes burned into your brain so when you see the 26-29 inch versions they look massive in person. CityGrounds has some specs on the sizing if I remember right🤘

i have a 2019 Gt pro performer 29er i love the bike, very disappointed in the rear wheel is is a freehub rear wheel with three pawls for engagement after only a few weeks its skipping and ive warped the wheel twice, also the components are proprietary, apparently i cannot purchase parts to upgrade the hub id have to replace the hub entirely. i will be purchasing a SE rear wheel which is freewheel not freehub (dont feel bad if you dont know the difference i had to look it up myself) hope this helps inform a few people since i had to find out the hard way

@BigBikeBMX

I love the 33/17. Downside is you’ll run out of torque faster and start “hamster wheeling” and not going faster. I cruise at a chill pace everywhere so it doesn’t cause me any issues and I ride about five miles round trip to and from work every day. That’s the give and take of the 33/17 gearing🤘💪

Where can I buy a chain that’s for a 33 sprocket?
@BigBikeBMX
3 жыл бұрын
Any local bike shop can sell you a chain and then use a chain breaker to fit it to your sprocket/freewheel/cog size. They all come with enough links to work with most sprockets already with links left over.

@@jacobgocrazy4533 yup. Be aware that you’ll need to use a chain breaker to size it yourself. You might be safer taking your bike to a local shop and buying one from them and having them size it for you. It’s cheaper than buying a chain tool and a chain.
