ALSO- this is by Fire Hose GAMES not Fire Hose "studios" idk why I can't read, fortunately no one paid me to make this so its okay that i botched that 😂 anyway if any of you guys got to play the demo in the past, would love to hear your thoughts

No eating or drinking, the only goal is to grow the factory, yes yes. Kinda strikes me as Raft (story, exploring, a base) with Factorio logistics and automation.

I'm liking these other game samples. That said, I couldn't help but think "Man, hope she has undergrounder, and a passion for mining. Goin' get a debuff for working in the dark... and no table... Jadz, you know what happens if you dont have a table...".

Very excited to try this. I noticed yesterday that Techtonica will also launch on gamepass for PC and Xbox on July 18th! 🎉

I'm curious to see where all it differs from Satisfactory, but I definitely like the bits of story and the underground atmosphere

Thanks for putting this on my radar. Only a few more days until this releases on steam. 🙂 But in the mean time for those that are looking for an interesting mix of town management with factory building I would suggest looking at Factory Town.

I'm loving all these looks at games - I've got a similar taste in games to you, so it's great finding new things and heaving folks talking about them with similar questions in their noggin!

I'm a bit torn on the 'no hostiles' aspect. If it's done well as it is in Subnautica then it adds so much emotion and depth to the game. But in a game like Satisfactory where hostiles aren't implemented that well, imo, the combat becomes predictable and annoying. If the devs can't do it well, better to leave it out and I'll be much happier. This def. looks like a game I'd enjoy.

Interesting. Couldn't get into factorio but this looks easier to manage. If it has anything in common with subnautica it is worth a look.

Def easier to manage! The in-game tips and “tutorial” ish input are really helpful too so I feel like it’s very easy to pick up and then the rate at which it gains complexity feels very natural

I remember seeing a peek at this a few months back. It looks interesting. The environment certainly has a visual appeal, but I'm a bit torn on the UI... it's jarring. All that yellow hurts me on some level. Hopefully that's just a setting you can change!
@Jadziax

I don't think you can change it. But I was also torn on the UI. Some of the UI feels really seamless (ie, inventory) but other parts feel kind of unpolished, like I made them in MS Paint (the databank and journal). But I spend less time in those menus so am able to ignore that lol

I played a free but time-limited demo almost... 9 months ago? Splattercat put up a video about it, that's how I discovered it. The controls were a little wonky, but you'd expect that from Early Access. Looks like there's been some base-building mechanics added since I played. And some visual upgrades to some other parts of the game, e.g. the starting area. I think I managed to finish the demo mostly? I got back to the "main line" or whatever. Wasn't sure if there was more to do from there... and I think I was just about running up against the play-time limit that the demo had at that point. Depending on the price for early access, I might be interesting in doing some co-op. However it looks like Steam let average joes buy the early access version until July 18th.

The research core system needs changing big-time. It's such a silly design choice to have physical perk points that eat fps and take up sp much space. I don't understand how they thought that that system was a good idea....

I personally felt like the demo had you expected to scale up a bit too much, too fast. You went right from two digits to thousands of things needed for the production terminal, and it was really vague on how to use eg the threshers. The MOLE is all very well, but you need just MASSIVE amounts of space to lay down the machines it expects you to build. I also wish you had more control over the vertical level of conveyor belts, more like Dyson Sphere Program. Having it automatically follow the lowest available contour is 95% of the time not going to be what I want.
@Jadziax
Жыл бұрын
that's fair lol I'd be overwhelmed! I didn't actually play the demo. I do feel like the scaling in the full (early access) game is a good pace. Might hit a wall soon though, I'll let you know lol
