I remember going to see the WWF house shows at the CYC in Scranton. We never had enough money for tickets, so my brother and I would hangout in the back alley and the wrestlers would come out back occasionally during the show to get some fresh air or what not. I remember Dibiase coming out and he was so much bigger and more intimidating than he looked on tv. Granted I was only about 11 years old, but still. He seemed really nice though, while still staying in character. He was outside about 10 seconds, looked at the crowd and says “it’s hot as shit in there!” And everyone laughed. He was out there a few more minutes and I worked up the courage to tell him was among my top 3 favorites (I always liked the heels as a kid) I expected him to be a dick because this was still the kayfabe days, but he goes “thanks. Smart kid here!”. I had old pics from back then but long gone unfortunately. Good times haha

Do NOT put CM Punk in the same category as Ted or Jake. They were wrestlers that were well over 6ft 250 when most men weren't even 6ft and looked like they were legit badasses. CM Punk looks like a glorified ballet dancer at 180lbs.

I mean this with the utmost respect. During his pro wrestling career, Ted DiBiase looked like he never set foot in a gym. He was a very well-conditioned athlete, who could work hour-long matches. His stamina at Royal Rumble 1990 was impressive at 44:47.

I agree with all of the comments. I, too, can appreciate a Professional Wrestler that looked like (and was) a rough and rugged guy...as opposed to looking like a bodybuilder. He mentioned Dick Murdoch. I've seen (hard to imagine) that guy with that beer belly and 6'4" frame preforming athletic moves and combined moves...vertical suplex, flying head scissors, flying drop kicks, flip over the ring ropes!!! A skilled worker that could pound beers and opponents!

Ted Dibiase six five, two hundred and sixty pounds. How about that? Funny thing, Teds favorite match was with Hogan from SNME. Lovely stuff. Doink beat Bret at a house show. Austin blames Mero for his split lip, yes sir. Yes he does. Sherri and Liz were supposed to have a program, but Vince nixed it. Aurelian Smith Jr caught a jobber dancing around to his theme and went straight to Vince, citing disrespect on the jobbers part. After the fact, that jobber had to explain and apologise to Smith Jr. Bray beat Rollins on a house show. Bubba was supposed to win the IC title at Mania7. Plans were nixed and then Nailz came along. Crush's heel turn WAS best for business, looking back.

For a guy who admitted not to eat very well on the road especially in the mid south days ,he had a pretty good physique. He was by no means a body guy in other words he was not all rocked up. He probably ate one meal a day maybe and his gym work was actually in the ring The ring work that he would do match after match, that's how he got his gym work in so to speak.

It's refreshing to see "regimen" used properly instead of more popular and often misused "regime" when talking about workouts.
