Story: first time I ran into Nugent was in a music store by DETROIT in Plymouth, Michigan. : he was 24yrs old & I was a punkkid age 15! He wasn't a Solo National Act,yet. Was still playing with Amboy Dukes: that was 1973... Ted was waiting for his new Byrdland to be brought out. So I hung out, about 2 hours ! Watching him put it through its paces &I locked out got a 12×14 Autograph of Ted photo said Ted Nugent & Amboy Dukes.Picture was just Ted with 3 guitars.

I was talking to Carmine Appuce at the Chanell in Boston and he wanted to know if I wanted his autograph. I asked, "Do you want mine?" He laughed, (we both laughed), and then he asked if he could buy me a beer. I said thanks but I already have one. We laughed again and talked about things other than music. Nice man.

When I moved from Denver to Lansing,Michigan it was 1976, I was 12 and had been playing guitar about a year. The first concert I went to by myself was Ronnie Montrose opening for Ted Nugent. Ted wasn’t anywhere near as big out west and I had never heard of him, I went to see Montrose but Ted just blew my mind. It was the summer just before Free For All was released and he just blew the roof off.

I enjoy watching this as much as I loved the music back in the day. It's great rock music. 🪨 It's rock history now. Ted Nugent was a force to be reckoned with in concert. Nobody played louder or sweeter Rock n Roll. 💯 Hos concerts were always packed. Everyone wanted to be there. You can't convey all that on a billboard chart. Saw TRex , Foreigner and Ted Nugent one time in 1979. He blew them all away, I'm telling you. He was the man until Van Halen, then he was still great, just ppl were digging on VH.
