That was the metaphorical jab. Fury has exemplary skills in mental beat downs. He studies the opponent and calls out their weakness in front of everybody in between all the trash talk shenanigans. They never see it coming. Wilder went in to the first face off thinking they were friends, or equals. Fury set that up on purpose. He metaphorically knocked Wilder off his feet when he told him that they were not alike at all because they worship different Gods. Wilder thought that African voodoo bullshit would scare Fury. It’s hard for people to believe that Fury is what he is today because of the grace of God and his faith in Christ Jesus. Fury rightly claims it. People have an allergic reaction to it, ie Joe Rogan; and forget that this is what sets him apart from the others.

I think Fury had it psychologically from the 12th round of the first fight with Wilder. He took the best shot Wilder could throw, one that had Deontay making the throat-slash gesture like he knew he'd won, and he got up from it and then outfought Wilder the rest of the round. From that point on, he understood Wilder couldn't stop him. And when he faced Wilder again, he ran at him, bullied him and dared Wilder to do anything about it. Which he couldn't, because like Atlas said, he can't fight off his back foot.

unclassified why would he come in at 230? wilder was 20lbs overweight for that fight. usyk 210-215. 6'3 plenty tall to touch that jaw. fury has had problems with smaller dudes who are fractions of the skillset that usyk has. do any of you actually box or frequent the gym?? doesnt seem like any of you consider the true details of this sport. you guys show your novice by falling into silly talking points like size lol

I loved the fight. I'm an American, Fury fan, but if Deontay Wilder had the same exact skillset and ability along with whatever it is that makes some guys like that quiet... That makes the one scariest boxer, puncher, man in the world. If you ever find someone with those types of God given abilities, probably never will be a pro fighter, that doesn't shout about it like Wilder did (Big George Foreman comes to mind, young George and old George) those are the truly Baddest Men on the Planet. Regardless of who or what gameplan you implement. They're just there. They don't back up, they don't go away, you don't hear them coming, you don't notice them leaving, you don't remember where you are or how you got there. No one's left around. Who dropped me off the roof of this building? I know a man like that, and it sure isn't D. Wilder or T. Fury. Scary stuff.

I love teddy atlas. He truly loves the actual sport and the science of boxing. Tyson is so good that if Wilder was left handed then Fury would have switched stances to beat him. Not many boxers can do that. Now Wilder fanboys are saying that Tyson was cheating by flicking the jab. LOL. They are just making Wilder look worse than he already does.

why people are saying "he reinvented himself?" fury fought like this in numerous fights in the past. first fight he was worried about right hand but changed tactics for second fight when he saw wilder cant fight backing up and judges wont let him win on points.

Exactly. He dragged Wilder into deep water and drowned him. What people don't know about Fury, is that he's a student of boxing and he's a master of the mind games. He always could brawl, he took out people with lovely body shots early in his career. I don't see how Wilder can beat Fury.

"no one expected him to come out and beat him up like that" That's a load of bullshit. Fury has proved time and time again he is one of the P4P greatest. His style, reach and boxing IQ prove themselves over and over every time he fights. It's why I put £400 on Fury to win ( a lot of money for me)

So was Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano etc.... you can still be great. Not everyone is a technical genius. Fury is big, smart and tough. Klitschko had many tricks and it didn't work. Wilder has not diminished, Fury has been elevated.

@@2308521 I don't know much about the opponents Dempsey or Marciano faced but Joe Frazier and Foreman completely dismantled boxers who'd likely have no trouble figuring out and exploiting Wilder's style
