Murder and homicide are not the same thing. This should not be a death penalty case. It's an overeager prosecutor charging the highest crime they can, even though it's inappropriate. A) because the police union wants blood and will make sure the prosecutor doesn't get re-elected if they sense softness. And B) because this is more likely to get the defendant to take a plea deal that actually is not a deal at all. It's actually corrupt.

I taught middle school and the father of Tariq Kamisa and the grand father of the 15 year old that murdered him came to our school and talked to the entire school in the auditorium. Tariq was a pizza delivery driver. He was set up to deliver to a bogus address. two older guys gave the kid a gun and told him to rob and shoot Tariq. They killed him and stole the pizza. The 15 year old got a life sentence. They travel to other schools. The Tariq Kamisa foundation. That was 20 years ago, and that kid is 35 and still rotting in prison. We planted a tree at the school for Tariq. I would like to see it now, how it's grown after 20 years.

Kids are recruited as young as 8 into gangs and are brainwashed to believe that because they are kids, which they most certainly are, they won’t get a harsh penalty if they do this for their set (gang). That’s like being mad that a soldier didn’t care as much about a civilian over his battle buddy 😂. I NEVER get why people make this point. I mean for gods sake you could be working fast food, and if your coworker was unalived in a robbery it’s going to affect you more than if some random customer did. Go cry about police somewhere else

These young men were stealing beer from a convenience store when off duty police officer, Sgt. Philip Dale Nix, tried to intervene. He was shot 5 times and died on the scene. A 20 year veteran, he left behind a wife and three children. Ironically, Sgt. Nix spent most of his career working in the Family Victims Unit.

A loss of life for what? For some dam beer? Wtf. If parents don't start disciplining their kids when they're young, we'll continue to have these tragic sensless scenarios.

His reaction doesn't matter to me. I just have to imagine the reactions of the family of the person he killed to the news that they would NEVER see him again.

@@donaldlyons17 a "*good* chance" ???! What percentage, Mr. Lyons? 50/50? Perhaps 40%? 20%? What is a "good chance" percentage that cop spouses and their children should just buck up and be willing to accept as reasonable? I sincerely hope I have misunderstood you.

What a dumb statement, that's like if u were at court over a murdered family member & someone told u "why don't u come out this hard for every murder?"

@@jcruz5050 if a family member got murdered we would all be upset that’s our family. But my family isnt employed to uphold the law or prosecute crimes or judge these crimes. We’re regular people. If one of my family members was murdered the cops wouldn’t care as much as if one of their own was killed. Thats how it is. When a cop gets killed where we live there is a 2 mile long funeral procession that drives through our town. That doesn’t happen for anyone else. Murders go unsolved all the time but when it’s a coo or first responder that almost never happens.
