Can you elaborate on baking soda as a teeth whitening substance. Some Doctors recommend it for patients. Is it true that it whitens your teeth over time or is it a myth? You know, not everyone wants to go to the hospital to get their teeth whitened.

It's a good thing that we all know now that having a normal yellowish teeth is not bad at all. They say that when the teeth are normally yellowish, they are said to be much stronger too, Dr.John is it true? It is certain that almost everyone wants/loves to have white teeth....Thank you Dr.John and Dr.Choi for this very helpful video and info for everyone's hygiene when it comes to dental care...Thank you so much and keep safe always. 💜💜💜

Could you do a video on teeth grinding? I've been struggling with this for so many years and only recently started doing jaw botox to manage it but it's such a short term solution. I found that I even tend to do it even when I'm not stressed so it bums me out that my body has made a habit out of it 😢

I think some points you brought up were great. I would love to see over-the-counter whitening product reviews and what we should get as general consumers to do at home. Another topic that was slightly mentioned is what you eat post whitening (48 hours) is the most crucial time. What are the best foods to eat during that time? (obviously not colored or acidic) What is recommended?

This video was so fun! Have some thoughts to share! 1) Funny enough I have been using native for 2 years, and I enjoy it very much! 2) I went to the dentist this morning, and I’m cavity-free! 3) I drink coffee everyday like most people, so for the past couple weeks I have been trying to finish a coffee in 30 minutes just for my teeth to be less stained, and it’s not been bad. I drink my coffee iced, so maybe with hot drinks it’s more difficult. I rinse with water after, but I don’t brush after. I only do the required brushing twice a day and flossing once a day. I brush first thing in the morning before I drink or eat anything, and then wait 30 minutes after to drink/eat anything. I personally don’t mind it, but I can understand if people choose to brush after their coffee or breakfast. I really enjoy your content, and I’m gonna find me a dentist husband one day, and I hope you get you a wife soon!

This was so interesting! Definitely will rinse my teeth now after drinking my tea and eating my berries! Even though I do wonder: who takes more than half an hour to finish their coffee? It will be completely cold! Anyways: I would love to learn more about this topic! Please make it a series! I would also love to see the product reviews, especially since I naturally have really really sensitive teeth and was told that I should not use ANY products with whitening chemicals in them so I would love to here what you guys would suggest for cases like these to at least help a bit. Now that I think about it: a video with tipps for how to care for very sensitive teeth (with product recommendations etc.) in general would be great. Because I basically blink and get caries and internal stains and I hate it so much 😭 There is literally no reason! I stopped drinking anything with sugar in it because of it ever since I was a child, I use three different tooth brush heads and floss, specific toothpaste and I go to the prophylaxis four times a year and nothing seems to work.

Hello!, finally! I've been waiting for this video🤩 Thank you for sharing you hard learned knowledge with us and helping us keep our smiles. I stopped drinking teeth staining liquids but oh berries and curry I cant let go. I used some tooth whitening strips and I don't know if I over used them, they worked but my gums were painful and my teeth started getting sensitive. I'd definitely appreciate an in depth product review. Love my electric brush how was I washing teeth before? so primitive ,I might as well have just chewed on roots or used salted rags/soot(some hacks we used to do back home is bicarbonate soda and charcoal for teeth whitening, do you know any other unconventional hacks?). Thanks Dr Yoo and D Choi 정말 고맙습니다😊

Very informative! Really enjoyed this video. Couple questions. Does whitening mouthwash make your enamel porous? So when using whitening mouthwash, would drinking coffee and consuming colored or acidic food cause more staining?
@dr.johnyoo
Жыл бұрын
great question. the 48-hour rule (some offices advise longer) applies to professional in-office whitening, given the strength of the dosage. the dosage and contact time (how long the peroxide hits the teeth for) matters , and in the cases of whitening rinses, the dosage and contact time are both minimal. there is no hard set rule for how long you should wait after over-the-counter products, given the varying dosages, so i cant give you a clear time interval unfortunately. but whitening toothpaste and whitening rinse are on the lower end of dosage/contact time, among the products out there.

Hi Dr., Amazing video as always! I do wonder, as I get mixed answers about it, what is the max % of water peroxide you should use . Which would not hurt your tooth health in any form or case. I thought it was 6% as per (EU law I believe), however many dentists have 35% carbamide peroxide and 15% hydro peroxide, bit lost here
