Used to have a holiday home in Shaldon and I'd ride a loop up the massive hill off the Torquay road - was all brambles in the summer. Looked like I'd crawled through barbed wire. Teignmouth looks as grey as I remember 🤣

Why are your brakes literally horizontal? That's gonna force your hands into a pretty weak position, or over extend your finger like it seems to be here. Couldn't imagine it's easy to get into a low attack position like that.

Actually, many riders like almost or fully horizontal levers. That way when you descend, the front (finger side) of your palm is resting on the grips, making it a bit of a suspension. Less armpump, more precise control, and you don't force your thumb back as much. Kinda like you don't stand on the pedals with the back/mid part of the foot, but little closer to the toes. I ride XC and my levers are almost horizontal, if i rode more gravity, they would be fully horizontal for sure.
