It is Blue with a hint of Blue-violet. I prefer the darker shade of the color, Midnight.

At 0:40 it shows karaite tzitzis. Why not stick with Rabbinic ones? Karaite tzitzis are a whole other topic as they dye blue from any source, not just the murex.

@Rafael Jason Hecht This is inaccurate. Qaraites refuse to use dyes extracted from marine species that the Torah classifies as impure and commands to detest. Hence no Murex or cuttlefish extracts in Qaraite Ṣiṣiyot.

@@ZviJ1 torah commands to not eat. But doesn't say anything about using it to dye clothes. There is enough archeological evidence showing that the murex trunculus is the source of techelet.

@@ZviJ1 we are not totally sure about techelet, but we are about argaman and shani. Argaman is tyrian purple, made of another murex species (murex brandaris). Shani is crimson (or carmine in latin), and have this name because or the insect Kermile. Both of them are from impure species. Both used on the veil of the Beit HaMikdash and on the priestly garment, along with techelet. So if argaman and shani are extracted from impure species, why would not techelet?

Its "Purple" Not blue, what is the "first"color change blue or purple? It is "Purple," the color of "Royalty", blue was Easy to make back then, so why would they have had need to get one tiny "drop" from a snail, the first color it turns is Purple, that didn't match up with what they thought it was so they put it in the Sun and turned it blue, kinda like twisting the scriptures until it says what you want it to say, not what Father Yahweh says it is. Please everyone show yourselves worthy by researching and studing for yourselves, this video even tells and shows you it is truly purple watch it again and see for yourselves. (1:03. A jar entirely of purple) Remember its what Fathers says or it is Wrong. Shalom all.. At 1:03 it tells us and shows us the answer left for us to find. Purple, maybe purple dye jar!! I've always use blue as well, I even made tzitzits for the corners, then more research is showing me it means fringes which twisted, all along the borders of the garment which will cover all corners, look at the picture research the fringes covering the entire borders of the bottom of the garment, there are pictures from carvings Please look closely. True followers of Father let our Creator correct us. Another crumb left for us, scripture tell us that Lydia was a seller of " Purple fabric", Lydia was wealthy, I believe she even own 2 homes if not more, scriptures did Not say she was the seller of blue, but "Purple"

No. Techelet is BLUE indigo, not purple. Our opinion doesn't matter. This is science. They have fragments of talits from roman times. And they clearly show BLUE strips. We also have the paintings of Dura Europos synagogue in Syria (from the times of Jesus). And they show jews wearing the talit with BLUE strips, just like this techelet (similar to prussian blue). So no, techelet is not purple. But in ancient times they sometimes mixed these names. Blue, purple and greenish-blue in ancient world were referred as "hyacinthos" in koine greek. Hyacinthos is (mis)translated as "purple" in english, but it was not always purple. Purple is argamon in hebrew. Techelet and argamon are definitely not the same thing. This argamon purple was also used by the phoenicians. The murex trunculus from Israel was used to make the techelet, while the bolinus brandaris was used to make the purple. Both colors were present in the Holy Temple of Jerusalem, and also a third (an intense red called "shani" in hebrew, made of the insect Kermil. That's why this color is also named carmine in english).

Please check your facts before dismissing what others say. Blue was not, in fact, easy to come by in ancient times, because although most colors can be created through biological pigments (pigments coming from plants or animals), blue pigment is incredibly rare, since most blues appearing in plants or animals are made from the microscopic shape of the plant or animal, rather than from a pigment. I can't speak to the rest of what you're saying, but I have done enough research on ancient blue dyes (I was writing a paper on cobalt, which is the basis for what was probably the most common blue dye in ancient times) to know that it was once the rarest color, to the point where commissioning a painting in blue was an effective method of showing off incredible wealth.

Yeshua is the Messiah. The only begotten- ask the God of Isaac, Abraham and Jacob to open your eyes, and heart to the way, the truth and the light. Ask the Lord for forgiveness in your heart of all others and turn from wrongdoing- then ask him to guide your life- accept God’s gift of atonement of your sins through the blood of the lamb- that’s Yeshua. This is the most important thing in your entire life. Ask him to show you what a good and faithful servant looks like and how to become one- get yourselves water baptized and stick to God’s holy word- read it everyday. Find fellowship amongst people and ask for guidance on which church to go to. Shalom. 🤍
