you know, I completely understand getting mad in the heat of the moment, thinking something is bullshit when you're caught off guard and all that but it's impressive how some people like DSP go out of their way to never learn anything. Tekken 8 gives so many tools to improve and to learn how to deal with all sorts of situations, go to replays with all the advice prompts turned on, go to training and check the frame data or test if you can sidestep or even just download the ghost of someone that destroyed you and play defensively against it until you can deal with their most common patterns of attacking. Yes it is a game that can get extremely frustrating at times even compared to other fighting games but it gives you so many ways to improve and learn without going to some wiki to scavenge hidden data on moves or watching 500 million hours of youtube tutorials(though youtube tutorials for Tekken 8 are great and I'm thankful to all the people making them) that the only excuse to not get better is not wanting to put in any effort.

I want to WHINE. But myself, and most people, aren't truly deluding themselves into believing these comments, and I'm also not broadcasting to a live audience. Also, another note about Phil and SF6. Once he hit Master, he made the excuse that ALL PC players are cheating because they have super expensive rigs and even have modified operating systems that allows them to play better (and yes, FGC OS does exist, but it's been proven that it doesn't give extra benefits). Not only it's been proven that PC players don't have an advantage, but prior to this, Phil bought a 300 dollar pro stick to stomp casuals. He didn't have any complaints when he had better equipment than other console players, it was only when he started to lose that he accused PC players of being cheating tryhards. He is now extremely strongly considering quitting Tekken outright. The exact same thing happened when he played SF6. He grinded, he climbed, he reached his ceiling. He had three options then, the same three options he has now. Just keep playing and roll with it when he loses. Lab and practice and strive to improve if he wants to keep winning. Or, option 3: quit when the going gets rough because he's not winning as much as he wants to. I don't hold anything against Phil for not being the best. There's no fault in being bad at a game. Fun fact: he's been complaining about his moves not coming out ever since he played in arcades back in the late 90s. He used to write these "reports" about locals he went to (which was more of a journal) and he mentions that his buttons didn't work and that's why he lost lol

The thing that annoys me most about DSP in fighting games is that he just rejects fucking reality. The screen says 20ms ping 0 packets lost and 0 rollback frames and DSP will say ''the game lies i can feel it lagging''

@@StardustCrusader18I don’t think it’s watered down but the fact that basically anyone can heat engager into 50/50 into heat smash into 50/50 to win makes it a lot less difficult to steal rounds, or even just abuse the characters individual heat mechanics. It’s a fun game, I think it’s skill expressive, there’s just a lot catering to the bottom of the barrel victor/reina/hwoarang types out there that will happily slam heat empowered moves and rage art to purple ranks and then stagnate. I appreciate the depth of Tekken but you have to play so tight or you just lose really easily compared to previous games.

1) Yes it's unreactable, but the King was approaching DSP with it nearly every time he engages with him. With the fundamentals DSP claims he has, he should have learned to block it. 2) DSP is not a casual. At the time of me making this video, he was watching high rank matches while incorporating things in his gameplay. And he has knowledge of other fighting games.

You're right about DSP being very bad and very hypocritical, but it's even worse when you know a little bit more about the game. I'm not that great myself (raijin rn with lee) but I would call scrubby gameplay: gameplay that has high effectiveness while requiring no adaptation. So knowledge checking with complicated strings or sequences that are obnoxious (but make you die if answered correctly) over and over and celebrating when you win, but being salty when you lose, as well as throwing out evasive moves you're not getting punished for (hopkick spam, flash spam, 11 spam for yoshi, b3 for asuka etc.). The thing about scrubby gameplay is the moment someone anticipates and punishes scrubby defense, or reacts properly to scrubby offense, the person using them has basically a 0% chance of winning, because all they were counting on is the person not knowing what's going on and not responding properly. In DSP's case, his whining about bad players and how scrubby they are makes no sense. Yes, especially in his ranks, he will get knowledge checked to death, but often people just throw their CH at the right timing in neutral, do frame tight offense, use some level of judgement whether to take their turn or not (did the move hit, is it minus on block, is it plus, how far away am I after), or even just do not stop pressuring so they can avoid being knowledge checked themselves. On the other hand, DSP has shown so little actual skill at the game that it's incredible. No movement is obvious (no stepping, no backdashing to create space, which kbd isn't even necessary for, no dashing in to realign or catch someone too far), but the level of adapting on both offense and defense is somehow actually non existant. You said yourself, he will use the same flowchart, and I really mean flowchart because it doesn't matter whether the move hit or whiffed or was blocked or he's in another universe away from the opponent, he will do the entire sequence of moves he planned out. He will not care if he's read, he will not care if people punish it, he will not care if people change their offense and movement specifically to counter it, he will keep doing it and cry when it doesn't work. On defense as well, it is quite literally irrelevant if he is too far, or he was hit, or he blocked, or was ch, or the opp whiffed, he will mash at random timings when he feels like it. Then when he gets CH for mashing on hit (as you do when you literally don't pay attention to what is actually happening to you and do not respond to anything on screen), moves are unavoidable and you can't do anything against them. And like you mentioned, no following opponent's tendencies, so someone constantly doing lows will never get blocked by phil. And finally, in neutral, he will almost always wait a consistent amount of time and then mash something or run in. Pro play is all about adjusting timing to not be predictable with it, but dsp almost advertises how he will always wait the exact same amount of time before restarting his mashing, thus making opponents easily counter hit him every time (with what he calls obviously broken moves). Throws are also fair game for him, constantly doing rainbow drop, a notoriously difficult to react to throw with a lot of damage, but people throwing him will make him cry instantly about throw spamming. And lastly, the actual choice of flowchart he uses has plenty of throws, unblockables, punishable but non intuitive strings, evasive moves like kangaroo kick etc. because he knows people at his level will have difficulty even knowing, let alone responding to those moves. One of the worst players at that rank I've ever seen, but all he can do is trashtalk others. It's hilarious and such a free, easy ego boost to just look at him and think "wow I'm so glad I'm not darksydephil". I imagine that's how he's even still relevant today.

I’ve thought about making a similar video for a long time, showcasing exactly everything wrong with DSP’s play style and how hypocritical his complaints are, like how he says everyone’s a button masher when anytime there’s a counter hit launcher at the end of a string, he gets hit by it everytime because he has 0 patience. One of my favorite matches he played was against a Lee that was using the classic ws 2, 3 and slide mixup and complained that the slide animation was skipping frames and went full screen.
@ShmokeJoestar

DSPN low tier God have the same problem, they don't respect plus frames nor do they understand when it's their turn. When your opponent knows their frame traps and their disadvantage, and you don't, it will always seem like they're spamming or like it's always their turn. Neither of them has the introspection or intelligence to realize that not every move is minus
