I bought RG470 as my second guitar ~year 2000 and joined new band. More experienced guitar player told me - get a frets rework, switch pickups to DiMarzio and lock Floyd for only downward move with a good piece of wood. I did - this guitar served me well for many years in 5 or 6 bands.

On a lark, I bought an RG a couple years ago. I was taken in by the turquoise sparkle. It has the same pickups and floyd rose bridge as yours here. Now after two years, I am sold on the Wizard neck and floyd rose and can't switch off from them to another brand. I did my home work on the floyd beforehand and once leveled and tuned, mine stays that way. Great all around guitar.

Always was a tele/sg player. Due to disability, I had to start figuring out and narrowing down specs for comfort and ease and all that. Eventually I tried an Ibanez RG for that wizard neck. To my surprise something about the RG body shape just ended up being the most comfortable out of all the "super strats" I tried. The pick ups sound good for what they are, but not really my style so I've swapped for Duncans to get a more "classy" sound. But yeah, I never thought I'd end up playing Ibanez shredders. Turns out I love them lol.

Landon…FYI…on most Ibanez trems, inside the stud posts…they use a lock nut…if you decide to raise or lower the string height you need to put the tiniest allen wrench down inside the post to loosen that nut before you can raise or lower it…not sure on this particular model but it is on most low pro edge trems…I’ve seen people break them before!!!

I play a lot of different music and love the specs on these and many schecters with the thin C neck. The flat necks make lead of any style so easy. When i go back to a "normal" rounder neck I miss notes when doing triple and quad hammer ons in a run.

I've had an Ibanez RG550 since 1991, and there's not much left of the original guitar. It's had a new neck, new switch and pots, new knobs, two sets of pickups, and it's in having a new trem fitted. I hate them Ibanez terms, I don't like the way the arm always drops down, and I don't like the way it feels. The necks very thin, as I'm used to Gibson, and Fender necks, but it's a great guitar, and I'd never sell it. Ibanez guitar's are very different to other guitar's in the way they feel. M

S is the body shape, 670 is the model, QM is quilted maple then the other is the color code. I'm more of an RG fan than the S, body is a little small for me. My first guitar was an early 80s MIJ Squier Strat but played Jackson and Kramer for most of the 80s. I've enjoyed my Fenders a lot in recent years. Picked up an Elite Tele used that I love then just pre-ordered the Kingfish (from Sweetwater of course). I'm loving the Elite it "might" replace my Ibanez J Custom 8570z which has been my main since I got it about 4 years ago - both are phenomenal. Congrats on the first IBZ, always good to keep a shredder around... it may grow on ya! :)

my first electric guitar was a beat up early 90s Ibanez EX series. I have 6 guitars now, one for every month I've been playing I guess you could say, but my next is absolutely gonna be an FRH10N (I can't afford the TOD10N Tim Henson pro model). Hollow body as thin as an electric (not this electric though, damn that things thin) with nylon strings and an acoustic bridge pickup, but with a narrower, thinner, radiused neck. I feel like it'd be the most comfortable "classical" guitar to play for me, used to solid bodies

It seems confusing, but they have a system behind the letters and numbers, wich helps. I once took me the time to read on the Ibanez site. I forgot much, but the first letters is the model (if very first is „G“ means GIO= entry level). The following letters are naming the higher end model on wich that Gio is based on. Last letters are for wood, finish, color. Numbers in between are telling if top of the line or lowest specs or in between. So, on this guitar in the vid, „S“ means the model „Saber“ with a slim body, „QM“ is quilted maple. The first number „6“ is higher than 5, 4, 3 … so, a better spec’d model than the lower numbers. Beginning with 7, 8, …. those are towards top of the line of this type. Much more I don‘t know to tell.😊🤷🏻♂️ Maybe I could help a little.

Great video, and like one of the earlier comments, I’m late in the video… Anyhow, I’ve been toying with buying a “shredder guitar” after handling one in the studio where I take lessons. Morning coffee and late night surfing guitar pages set the stage for bringing me to your page. The video gave an excellent/ honest review without forcing the viewer to watch your guitar prowess vs your opinion and overall quality of the guitar. Some videos seem like endless riffs on each pickup and little insight on the product. That’s time the viewer cannot reclaim in life… As a side note, you can’t hide that Canadian accent - anymore than my wife (of many years) can hide the fact she’s a Newfie in the “By God” south (North Carolina)! LOL! Ok, enough of the banter. Great/ honest video and you picked up another subscriber today! Cheers!

I know I'm a few months late or so, I've been playing Ibanez mostly exclusively since the late 80's. The naming of this is It's an S series body (Saber) which is the thin, rounded horns. 600 series their higher NON Premium series. Ibanez kinda has this "tier" thing, these are at the top before getting into Premium Ibanez which this version would be the S6570QM the biggest real difference between the two is the Premiums go through more of an attention to detail type build, and after market pups, like Dimarzio's on the Premiums. The lower Ibanez are the The QM is for the quilted maple top. As for being out of tune, yeah with floyd style guitars I generally won't lock the nut down till i've put some time in on stretching the strings really good and playing and using the whammy etc.. really get the strings broke in. Then I'll let it sit a day or so, then go back repeat, then tune it and let it sit again about a day, then tune it and lock it in and generally they'll stay in tune till it's time to replace the strings.

The Ibanez mode names skip off the tongue like a Shakespearean sonnet. I have a very similarly specced Ibanez S-model: Indonesian made, HSH, Wizard III maple neck, Edge Zero 2 locking tremolo. I find the locking tremolo a pain in the neck but the rest of the guitar is actuallly very good quality. Weighs very little, super thin, lovely ash body with nice grain, satin neck that is very clean looking. Simple controls. Can get some nice tones out of it. That locking tremolo man... Just a pain to tune.
