While it might be a personal preference, I find Telemann’s flute works most enchanting when played on a Baroque woodwind flute. I particularly enjoy hearing them as unaccompanied solo performance on a Baroque flute. The rich, warm tones of the Baroque flute bring out the intricate details and expressive nuances of Telemann’s compositions. This period instrument adds an authentic touch that modern flutes often lack. Listening to these works on a Baroque flute transports me back to the era in which they were originally performed.
