I'm white and for years learning about the truth. I was educated to believe our Indigenous were every possible degrading dehumanising thing anyone could imagine until one day I met an Aboriginal boy in high school and he was a beautiful person and absolutely nothing like we were told. After that I studied, I dug deeper and what I found tore my heart out. She is right, most Australian non-indigenous have no idea what these people have survived as they are still operating on the old paradigm from decades ago. Channels such as this is so vital and the gaps are slowly coming together as the elder generations are teaching the truth, the younger realising that its not right to be able to live peacefully when others are being destroyed, its impossible because its not going to create happiness. This blessed lady Florence is someone who has had to endure unspeakable treatment and, be a role model, this makes her powerful because she's gained her trust in herself and strength in spite of the wall in front of her. Yesterday 13th was Sorry Day and I am sorry with all my soul and WILL continue to post this topic on my media and keep learning and hopefully one day can actually do something useful in ways only Universe can guide. 🙏🏼

_The Stolen Generation_ is far wider than this story its just one of many - not only were *black children* forcibly taken from their natural parents so were *white children* as well over 100,000 from the Uk sent to the colonies including Australia to be neglected sexually and physically abused and forced into hard labour for no reward *absolutely discregeful **en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_Children*

I went to a public school where our history department taught us about the stolen generation, about assimilation and about recent historic events such as the Eddie Mabo, but as an adult now, I'm astonished by two things: 1) the number of older adults who still know nothing about any of this and 2) how much was still left out of the curriculum (such as the right to exclusion laws and the reserves). Thanks for sharing your story and I wish you the best for your healing journey!

My heart breaks listening to this. I have so much respect. This land will always belong to the Indigenous people. Always has and always will.

Nearly every aboriginal person I grew up with has family who was personally involved with that disgusting policy and attitude towards the first nations. It's not even just the abusive treatment, the terrible separation of families, but also the disconnect from Country, and the history. Always here. Always Will Be. 🫂
