If I gotta say one thing about this game, I think it's impressive how many fail states there are and that Rexxy still only gets a full vore kill animation at the very end.

This being set during the film's story tells me they wanted it to follow the main events of the film more closely but couldn't afford the rights to Sam Neil, Laura Dern, and/or Jeff uh uh Jeff uh Goldbl-Goldblum's likeness. XD I love the idea of this local guide just swinging her machete at random foliage, getting stuck over and over and just being like "I got this." while continuing to fail. XD And any time the guy complains she just yells "Play a rhythm game!" back at him. XD I realise he had just been sprayed and was missing his glasses but did he seriously miss a fully grown dilophosaurus that was 2 feet in front of him...? Also, using a needle that feel the floor is already bad news, but trying to do so in a moving car, on a rough road is all kinds of bad idea. I feel like our doctor should be smarter than this... Also, by this point doesn't he know about toxic plants after Satler saw the sick triceratops? Why is he so shocked by the idea of them possibly eating poisonous plants at this point...? Yeah, I think most people's "knowledge" of tranquilisers comes from the Metal Gear games where a headshot from a tranquiliser takes IMMEDIATE effect. Ah yes the flight simulator computer files. XD A nice callback if nothing else. Also, in the Novel it mentions Hammond found Nedry in Cambridge, Massachusetts (also in Hammond's memoirs in Trespasser (if you can take anything from that game seriously, its Hammond's monologues XD) not them being related. WOW this period of Telltale is ROUGH. They made good point'n'click prior with the Sam and Max series and, while you don't like them, the Walking dead series was big for a reason. Animations were still a little shaky but at least the characters were more interesting and your dialogue choices (sort of) mattered. There was a back to the future one that kind of interested me since I love those films buuuuut it got lost to me ever growing backlog and I don't see it coming to the top anytime soon. XD His face when Jess gets eaten at 2:06:18 is more like he's disappointed in her, rather than "NOOO! MY CHILD! 😢" At least Jess looks actually distraught seeing her died killed. Also, ouch, brown recluse bites? I hope they aren't too serious... How'd you get those? Exploring abandoned buildings or...?

In regards to actor likenesses, I think that's exactly what happened. Even Gerry Harding, the one named character they got from the movie, looks and acts nothing like his movie version. To be honest, it may have been better if this game was a remaining of the first movie's events, so that way there wouldn't be any debate of it being non-cannon. Thanks for the Nedry clarification. I was going purely off of memory while recording this game, and it's been a while since I went deep into the lore. That was part of the reason why my review for this game is being postponed. I wanted to review the books and movies first so my memory would be refreshed when giving this game a proper analysis. Just so you get an idea of how rough Telltale was during this time, between Jurassic Park and Walking Dead they came out with a Law and Order game nobody played or knew about. That in mind, despite how much I slam Telltale, I enjoyed their Puzzle Agent games (Their only 100% original story idea) and I'll be playing more of their games in the future. As for the brown recluse bites, there was a really bad storm where I lived and the city failed to pick up the tree worth of wood debris I had. I cleaned it up and stacked it for them, but for whatever reason they skipped half the people in town including every other house on my street. So, we bought a cheap woodchipper and my housemates and I processed the wood ourselves. Since I'm the stronger one, I sawed the thicker wood and broke the medium stuff down with my hands. This meant I was the one dismantling the wood pile, so it's not a surprise that some of the panicking animals ended up on me. Well, brown recluses live here, and sure enough one must of gone up my pant leg because four of my new bites turned purple. They never started to hurt so I didn't worry about necrosis, but they sure got close. They spread pretty bad after a week, but after a month they turned from purple to red. Still got the marks, but they probably won't scar like I was expecting. I have a scar on my finger from a bite a couple years ago, so this isn't the first time this has happened. As long as they don't start to hurt, there's no need to panic.

I actually really like this game. Sure it has a lot of jank but its also got a lot of great ideas. The troodon's are terrifying and the best new addition to the franchise in years. It's a shame we'll never see them like this in any of the movies.

@Aozame Did they? Haven't gotten around to recording those games yet, but the pictures online show a typical featherless design that looks about the same as my outdated reference books. There seems to be several mods that change them into the more alien-like design of this game though. I suppose them being called Troodon rather than Stenonychosaurus could have been to match previous games, but I always assumed it was because Troodon was the name more people knew.

If Telltale's Jurassic Park is officially non-canon then how come it's both alluded and referenced in Fallen Kingdom's marketing?
@BexxPlays
2 ай бұрын
So, I probably should have specified this better. The game is non-cannon because it literally cannot co-exist with what is established in Jurassic Park 1 and 2, both books and movies. Gerry Harding, for example, is in the first movie and is a completely different character in not only appearance but also personality and family situation. Everything with Nima and her people is completely incompatible with the very nature of Isla Nublar, which is named "Cloud Island" because it's so young that there is still steam vents in certain places and has no major food or similar resources. So on and so forth. There is only more incompatibilities as the game goes on. That in mind, part of the marketing of this game was that everything was supposedly cannon, even if it doesn't make sense. Now, Jurassic World was written by idiots who ripped off ideas from previous media and permanently ruined the setting. I try my best not to rant, but Fallen Kingdom in particular might be the most poorly thought out piece of dinosaur media ever conceived, and that is a high bar. I will undoubtably make a full review for it on my review channel one day, explaining in fine detail just how stupid the JW writers are. But for now, all I will say is that this game is non-cannon because it gets too much incorrect/noncompatible for it to co-exist with the first two entries. Even the wikis and fanon sites make up what is basically baseless fan fiction to try and make everything fit when it simply doesn't.
