My personal recovery diet: A lack of proteins, iron, and healthy fats are very big factors contributing towards TE. I have been struggling with TE for 2.5 years now. I too have baby hairs (thin strands of hair) and hence I feel I need to take care of my hair more than an average human being. I do these things:- 1) Have a big bowl of lentil soup (daal), an Indian recipe with spinach/kale and a spoon of ghee along with lunch and dinner. 2) Take Omega-3 tablets. Nature's bounty product. 3) I try to eat fewer carbs (not zero carbs as I am not on a keto diet) 4) I definitely eat colorful veggies with my lunch and dinner. Around 3 different colors. The big bowl of daal covers my protein requirements also keeping it vegan 5) I have oatmeal for breakfast and try to include as many nuts (walnuts and almonds) and seeds as possible (chia, ground flaxseeds, hemp seeds, pumpkin). Have a vitamin-C rich fruit with your breakfast. You can also do a smoothie or a healthy egg sandwich with avocados and tomatoes. I am also a big yogurt and milk fan, which I occasionally have when I am hungry. The big bowl of daal with spinach sauteed in it with ghee made a big difference for me. I am hair fall free currently and hopefully, it will stay a same.

Protein is in everything from rice, to oats to greens to fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes, beans, quinoa, etc so plant based diets have no shortage. Eating more greens is ideal since it's full of calcium, iron, minerals and amino acids. Also animals like cows get all of their amino acids from the greens... And plants is the place to get amino acids directly. If you eat animal foods, you're getting amino acids from the plants they consumed.

Hey! Grains have not all the essential amino acids. Quinoa does. But rice, etc… Doesn’t

this isn’t completely true. There’s something called protein quality and the protein quality on eggs/ whey/ chicken is much closer to 100 than it is in beans/ rice …. So let’s say someone wants 100g of protein they’d have to eat way more than on the labels of a plant protein source

Plant based proteins - quinoa and chia seeds are complete proteins. Flax, pumpkin, chia, hemp, sunflower seeds, pistachios, cashews, walnuts, almonds, brazil nuts, brocolli, asparagus, green beans, brusels sprouts, oats, brown rice, amaranth, barley pearled.

Thank you for this video. Just went to the dermatologist and he told me I have TE. I have been so lost as to what to do or where to go with it. Especially because there wasn’t a specific event/stressful thing that triggered it it just all of a sudden happened and it hasn’t stopped for close to about 8 months. I am trying to make total and complete lifestyle changes including diet, stop drinking caffeine(heightens cortisol levels and increases stress for me), and trying to distress! So happy I found your channel! 💙💙

Very thankful for your video and sharing your journey. Your advice is priceless. For several years now I have been going through stuff with my hair. I have never went to a doctor out of embarrassment. I have sadly had several pregancy losses and also lost my dad. Add also the fact that I am not one to handle stress well. When you mentioned the baby hairs and different phases, it was an ah-ha moment for me. All these years I have been going through a constant up and down Telogen Effluvium cycle. I am feeling much better hearing your success.

Gelatin as well is great for hair growth, because of all the amino acids. They have supplements, Jello, or just plain gelatin to make your own gummies.

Btw thank you for sharing your story. I have TE but it's related to a recurring flu I had back in December, Jan and Feb when that h1n3 strain was going around... 3 or 4 months later I noticed shedding and it's shedding more and I see thinning or a bit more scalp which most wouldn't notice but I do. Your diet sounds pretty good thanks again for sharing.

Do you think it’s possible to recover your full hair density even if you lost like 60%? Im guessing itll take a long while and will be slow but do you think it’s possible?
@LAURENNEWLY
6 жыл бұрын
Hey Sarah - I do, but i definitely think it will take a long time. Mine started in Feb 2016 (lost 70% density) and by this year in February, I felt confident but I would say to completely get back to my full density it may take till feb of this year or so (3 yrs total). My hair doesn't grow that fast and I made mistakes along the way so I think if you do the right things you could totally speed up the process!
