Great video. I remember watching the video for "Hunger Strike" not knowing who any of the band members were (I grew-up in NYC and never followed the early Grunge scene, apart from becoming aware of Nirvana and Soundgarden in 1989), and I was blown the fuck away. My problem with Kevin Wood and is that those opinions were never offered publicly until LONG after this album became legendary. This was before these bands really broke big, then after all that, A&M realized what they had was a collaboration between 2 of the biggest bands at the time and marketed it like crazy. I doubt whether Kevin Wood cares that much until the money was made. Also, keep in mind, Mother Love Bone (don't emphasize BONE, nobody says it that way) and Soundgarden were friends. It makes sense they would work together. I recall that Bruce and Greg said no (short version) and that is why Mike and Matt were brought in. I doubt also that Kim had a real problem with it despite quotes used here. I have seen at least a handful of Chris Cornell interviews and the other members that the reason they liked it so much was there was no pressure to make the record and Chris had songs that wouldn't work for Soundgarden that he used for TOTD. Not to mention the Times of Trouble was used later as a Pearl Jam B-side (Music by Gossard) to which Eddie wrote his own lyrics. Say Hello 2 Heaven & Reach Down are direct tributes to Andrew Wood. TOTD members have said that the other songs just came out naturally while they worked together...nothing forced or contrived and I think that is the reason the album is so good. The misconception is that it was a forced supergroup because of when the album came out for major distribution relative to when SG & PJ broke big. I love Malfunkshun and especially Kevin Wood's guitar on their recordings. I really don't think at the time, Cornell meant to slight him, as Cornell has said it was his way of dealing with the loss. What went on in private, I like everyone else, have no idea.

@@leinonibishop9480 Andy Wood didn't cross my mind. I was thinking of Cornell, Chester Bennington, Kirk Cobain. . . .allegedly. I mean, I get it if you have some horrible disease that slowly eats you till life is too painful to live. When that is the case, I get it. Why bear something you have no hope in overcoming. However, mental anguish is a temporary situation. It's like pushing your brand new car off a cliff because it ran out of gas. These people don't have to die. There is life after depression. As horrible as the reality is, the terminology to make it more palatable is nauseating . They're trying to make it snowflake friendly and it shouldn't be. People should be offended, disgusted and horrified by a physically healthy person taking their own life. It's wasteful and diminishes the person doing it, their family, their community, the human race. I listen to Chris Cornell cover One and I know for a fact the world is less without him in it.
