Wow! What insights that gave me. We call it an, "Aha! moment," in english. Now that you have given me new eyes with which to see, I have to go back and look at all your other sketches. I especially like the way you set up perspective from the start so that you can't go far off with the details. Just a great piece of instruction. Thank you very much.

+Emily Chubb Of course, you'll do. Just try . In one hour you can do 10 to 20 pochades. And of course one of them will be better than the others !! Keep this one. That's Roland Palmaerts's rule.

+Behzad AMir-Ansari At least , you've tried. If you like that, be sure that you'll success. Doing these "pochades" is the best way to get a good brushstroke technique. Do it again, one of them will be good. I really recommend you the CD fro Roland Palmaerts for this technique. He's really the King. I've learn with this CD

+Mike Porter Mike, i think that depends of your experience. But for me I started with "peindre sans dessiner", "peindre en trois coups de pinceaux" and "personnages et silhouettes". these 3 DVD will give you the passion for the sketches (pochades) and also how to draw easily "peoples" to give life in your painting. I don't know if there is a english version for these DVD.

*sigh*....i could watch you paint all day long...every brush stroke is beautiful...and i love the idea of warm-up paintings, should restrain the "Want It Now" whirlwind inside me...do you do this before the start of every painting - warm up sketches? its amazing to me how you are able to create from pure imagination - did you not use any reference image for anything you made in this video? one request - pls can you provide more instruction when you do a painting, eg. are you painting wet into wet, wet into damp, wet into dry; or why use one brush over another? and it would be great if you could do a video on brush marks i.e. when to use which brush...eg when would you use a fan brush, or a chisel brush, etc? i've had a fan brush for a dozen years or so and never used it.
