Pure genius, right there. Socially conscious songwriting and impassioned performances, don't get any better than this.

They opened with this on the Blind Man's zoo tour at Manchester Apollo. So dynamic, had me hooked instantly. As good as the unplugged version is, I have to disagree with people who say the slower version is better.

Always liked this band but just listening to her words on this song I realize the song is a lot darker than I remember it being.... "a nightmare born in a borrowed bed"? "My folly grows inside of me"?

Eat for Two is about an unplanned pregnancy and making a decision about what to do about it. Poison in the Well is about companies knowingly and intentionally dumping chemicals like Love Canal in the late 1970s.

@@DireitoConstitucionalProfGeral teenage pregnancy to be precise, particularly how different the outcome is for teen moms than teen dads, and the pressure for girls to say yes. At the time she wrote the song, Jamestown NY had the highest rate of teen pregnancy in the region. Natalie and the band are from there, so she felt compelled to write the song.
