Just wanted to say how much i enjoy your films; you seem to capture what fishing is really about and not just "big" fish/catches. Often repeat watch especially as no new content for some time - hope you still intend to put films out, many thanks

Hi William, thank you for the nice comments. I have just charged up the camera a batteries and I hope to get back out filming over the next week or two (weather dependent) hopefully I can find one or two places that will provide some interesting content. Tight lines for your next trip out and have a great Christmas and New year 👍😎

I was only this morning thinking....we've had no adrenaline rush for a while and you pop up Andy :-) Nice mix of fish there. Haven't caught a Crucian for years, maybe because they were'nt where I was fishing. I don't go so often now but always good to see a pro at work :-) Keep those lines tight.

Thank you very much D.J, It's getting harder to find venues with crucian's in (And tench) to be honest, in this carp crazy world, but I do have a real soft spot for them and that's why I make the trip. It's nice to hear from you as always and although you are not getting out much I do hope you are keeping well 🤞😎

@@boldersa Thanks yeah, I'm ok for an old codger :-) I pop down the local (Wyrley & Essington) canal now and then but in honesty I've never been keen on canal fishing..prefering rivers. Sadly many rivers are polluted worse now than they were after the industrial revolution lol. We tried the Severn a couple of years ago but we weren't impressed with the brown things floating past! And yes they were what you think they were! 😞 Oh well, it's nicer sitting here watching you catch 'em...and yes Tench are lovely fish too...and the younger they are, the slipperier they are, pretty fish though. Take care Andy. :-)

@@djmossssomjd8496 Hi DJ I am fine thanks, I took a break from filming and fishing for a while and I've been doing my annual stint of charity work in the run up to Christmas. I have just recharged all of the camera batteries this week and I shall be starting to venture out again now, so hopefully you should see a new film in the next week or two, providing everywhere isn't frozen lol. I hope you are keeping well yourself and if I don't talk to you before Xmas have a good one. Regards Andy

Nice one Andy! Doug and I could have done with a quarter of that net on Saturday. We visited a small river venue just outside Peterborough for the first time. All we caught was a good dose of sunburn each! I would have swapped it for a few hours at Snitterfield very happily.

Lol, sorry to hear that Duncan, was that the river Ise by any chance? Yes it was a very pleasant afternoon out and I didn't get sunburned 😂 Strangely enough I was wondering how you boys were getting on, I thought the pair of you would be immersed in chub and barbel fishing on the Severn for the duration of the summer? Anyway good to hear from you and give my best to Doug 👍😎 You boys should give Snitterfield another try sometime, it's very relaxing fishing 👍

also didn't have any bream, do you know where the best area on this reservoir is for the bigger ones?
@boldersa

I think if you go along to the right as you come in where it bends always fishes well well for bream 👍

Do u think the tench and other species will grow on ,or become stunted due to the amount of fish in the res
@boldersa
Жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, a very good question. Over the past 4-5 years, both the tench and the crucians have got bigger, and there is now a good head of different year classes of both species. Thad (the baliff before Ron) told me that the crucians don't breed naturally in the water, so they used to take so many out and breed them in the stock ponds behind. If that's still the case, then I see no reason for the fish to become stunted. If the teach, on the other hand, have several good breeding seasons, then yes, there is definitely a chance that with a lack of predators, they well may become stunted as they did at Canons Ashby, years ago.. Let's hope not, though🤞

@@boldersa Yes i did but next day i fished oppisite side of the lake and had Rudd to half a pound a few skimmers &small Bream and 4 Tench on the float and i enjoyed it more my view of the method feeder is its not proper fishing maybe a bit unfair . Tight lines . ps I must get over to Snitterfield for a session before the winter its lovely in early autumn .
