Rudi, I thought this episode was done very well. It explained things that we may have indirectly known but it gave you the theory to explain why it works as we know it. I think this is a great series and I look forward to your future episodes. Great work. Bob AD7J

Hi Rudi, after watching this first chapter I cannot understand why this series doesn't have HUGELY more views, likes and subscriptions. Its production value is just amazing.Seems that sometimes the YT algorithm is somewhat lame. I for one, however, will dive into chapter 2 right away. Many thanks for your excellent work, and 73 de Norbert, DF1PC from Germany

Excellent! Just found your pool noodle antenna and now I'm working my way through your other videos. NOW I understand why there are baluns for different ratios. Thanks so much! 73 de WB3CFN P.S. "For now..." I operate 100% mobile. I'll be looking for some tips to improve my Yaesu FT891/ATAS-120A setup. Aiming for DXCC as a mobile station. 😃

GROUNDING, GROUNDING and then more GROUNDING to your vehicle body as close to the radio AND the antenna as possible. HUGE difference. Works for my 857D and ATAS120A. Lots of DX.

I use an FT-857D with the ATAS120. Be sure to GROUND that antenna mount VERY WELL with flat braid cable to the nearest good ground (I use the bolt right in the door channel to keep it short)

Hi Rudi, I'm trying to learn how to practically build coaxial stub matching design by using T connectors, and coaxial 1/4 wave stubs, and whatever else may be necessary to bring a system into 50 ohm impedance match Do you have any recommendations of books or videos that will explain how to do this. Thank you!

The ARRL Handbook and Antenna Book will show you all about how to do this.
