Yes, I am having a troubles playing a pusher. I am an offensive player but the guy I am playing against quite often is a pusher and he gets all the balls back. I tried slicing him to get him to the net but the problem is that he is really good net player. He places the balls with power and accuracy once when he is on the net. What to do here?

Great footwork exercise. Just what I need for the lockdown. Guys we have 58 days before the courts open outdoor. Indoor tennis is closed. That will be a cornerstone for my preparation. 58 days, the days are getting longer, the winter and darkness will go away. And we will play tennis with a hunger and passion like never before. Let's promise that we will play tennis with a love and dedication like never before. And the beer afterwards will taste delicuous

@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Actually I am a guy, I made that account for my grandaughter :-) I play Viennese Amateur Championship in a club team since 10 years. We are all highly tennis addicted. We play 35+, 45+ and 55+ Age groups (already uauaua). Normally without Covid19 we have a tennis drill with teacher the whole winter once a week indoors. But due to Covid all indoor sport got banned beginning of October 2020. So we didn't play for 4 months, which is a horrible long time. Mid April the outdoor clay courts will open again. We are all competitive and take tennis very serious, but after each game, we sit together, drink beer, analyze tactics and have fun. It's really a community thing. Great channel you have. Love your instructions

@TopTennisTrainingOfficial
4 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you may be too open with your body, which would lead to that foot position. Start off the swing by coiling the upper body properly and run to the ball with normal running steps in a side-on position. Work on using the neutral stance more often for a while, or event the semi-open

Footwork = agility and agility is about training the brain through the body. All the exercises that you are showing allow the brain to get on cruise control. Circuits where you have to focus on performing unrepetitive movements are how you train for agility.

Especially in tennis, training for agility is marginal unless you train for agility that responds to a stimulus. Randomly hearing a cue (a number from 1 to 3) and performing a specific foot drill associated with that cue is training for agility adapted for tennis. With practice, the number of drills can increase from 3 to 4, and from 4 to 5... You get the point. Avoid drills that allow the mind to get on cruise control.
