Tennis is a physically demanding and challenging sport, and regular practice can help improve overall physical and mental health. Not surprisingly, it helps people meet the recommended guidelines of at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise (or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity exercise) per week, which can reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity. The Copenhagen Heart Study, which followed more than 8,500 people for 25 years, found that tennis players had a better chance of living longer than badminton players, soccer players, cyclists, swimmers and runners. Research predicts that recreational tennis players will live an average of 9.7 years longer than they would otherwise
