Thanks for the review! I so agree with you about the pedaling. I plan to use an ebike to supplement my pedaling, not replace my pedaling. Did you ever weigh the bike?

You say there is a built in feature that cuts motor power when shifring gears. But I believe that is not true for this bike. There is no electrical connection between the shifter and motor. I also have this bike and was advised to reduce power on the pedals, wait for a second and than shift gears. Otherwise you will hear a big ' clunk!' On you chain.

how loud is the motor noise (especially hill climbing)? Do you have any experience with hub drive bikes or Bosch mid-drives to compare noise wise?

yes I have ridden them all.. there will always be some noise.. it's usually a hum. It makes about eh same noise as a Shimano mid drive motor, which is quieter then a BOSCH. I have recently tested both those motors.. Hub drive motors make the bike feel more like a scooter. it pushes you instead of helping you drive the3 bike. Hub motors help you get the exercise and you feel the help as you pedal. hub motors take that bike ride feeling away.

@@racinteach Thank you very much for your quick and helpful reply! I've test driven Bosch bikes, and I thought they were basically silent in normal use (or at least as quite/quieter than road noise, tires, chain, etc). If the Bafang m410 and match or beat that, I am a very happy camper. A low hum I am very happy with, a higher pitched sound/whine I find more objectionable. I would assume the rear hub bikes are louder since the motor has to put out more torque, vs being able to gear up/down in the mid-drive bikes?
