Tepoztlán is considered a 'pueblo magico' (magical town) in Mexico, and it's obvious why; this place is MAGICAL. An hour drive south of Mexico City, it's a gorgeous little town situated in the middle of vast mountains.
One of the most distinctive features of Tepoztlán is the pre-hispanic culture that still exists here. Namely, in the food. We ate a ton of delicious pre-hispanic food that I'd never even heard of, including tacos acorazados, and itacate. We also drank pulque, a native alcoholic drink that looks like milk!
Parvati has family living here, so we came to stay in Tepoztlán for a few days and explore, and hang out with her loved ones. It was one of the friendliest and coziest spots I've visited yet in all of Mexico.
If you ever visit Mexico City, I highly suggest you take a day to visit Tepoztlán. It'll surely be one of the highlights of your trip in Mexico.
