Hiyama Corporation, operator of Sukiyaki Kappo Hiyama, opened a new teppanyaki restaurant in June 2020 as a new business model.
With premier seating limited to 6 people per day, this is a space where you can enjoy a special time in a relaxed atmosphere. The chef is Chef Tomoya Konishi, who has built his career at starred French restaurants.
Hiyama has a long history and was founded in 1912, making it a well-established restaurant with a history of more than 100 years. Originally, Teiichi Murakami, the first generation of the restaurant's founder, started a meat wholesale and meat retail business in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1912; in 1928, he started a meat wholesale and meat retail store in Nihonbashi Ningyocho, the current location, and seven years later, in 1935, he started a kappo restaurant there, which is where the restaurant has its roots today.
The "Ichigeki Ikkai" course offers many fascinating tastes of Wagyu beef, woven together by teppan-yaki and charcoal grill.
