“A book is made from a tree. It is an assemblage of flat, flexible parts (still called "leaves") imprinted with dark pigmented squiggles. One glance at it and you hear the voice of another person, perhaps someone dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, the author is speaking, clearly and silently, inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people, citizens of distant epochs, who never knew one another. Books break the shackles of time ― proof that humans can work magic.” ― Carl Sagan

I expect we are best at "smelling" our own future state. The state our physicality, or perhaps our sentience, is about to be in. This would have strong adaptive selection (evolutionary) pressure. Sentience, itself afforded by the capacity for this counter-temporal flow, draws itself forward to the great attractor. Little god into big. The space for this feedback loop requires a "past to future" flow, in order to afford the creation/evolving aspect. And this is "consciousness". It is why we were made. To do the work the object at the "end" of time cannot. Myths seeming to describe this are ubiquitous. "created in the image of...", the separation from or the splitting of the original divinity, even the Vedic notion that God (is it atman?) is at the beginning and the end of the world, but not in the world, etc. Mythopoesis Scio Mundus Deus All things come from the end.

I saw strange lights in the sky (which happens all the time ) about a month ago in particular it was overly strange. It wasn't the usual flying saucer /singular object that happens from time to time. Instead it felt like I was looking into "the machine" a network of flying saucers and the flight patterns they were going to take before they took them. It's very hard to find words to describe this experience but as usual Terrance and his brilliant way of speaking has touched upon what I was feeling. Because In that experience it wasn't only that I was "seeing" these but feeling the whole system even if the "eureka" feeling was very brief.

monks and yogis and acetics have known this for thousands of years...there is a method of meditation to open the third eye in which when it opens it is like one is sitting in a big long tunnel with a small white light at the end of it....when it first opens one just practices going to the light door and coming back...after some time one can imagine where one wants to go nearby and then pass out thru to light door (out of body) and be at that place near your house in your astral body...one then comes back...next time one can go a bit further and then come back...after a dozen or so journeys.. while in the tunnel (in meditation) one has an image PLUS a time in the past in mind and when one passes thru the light one goes to this place for the time wanted (last Saturday night at 8.30) and can see what took place there and then come back...when one has experimented with times going further back one can then have an image of the place and time to go for the future (next Saturday night at 8.30) and go there to the place to see what will happen (this is how monks on thailand have given correct lottery numbers to their disciples and they win the lottery)...it is fact...a true science...I know the method but unable to see the tunnel image yet...one needs to be living in the forest and meditating at least 8 hours per day doing the method in sitting and walking meditation...2 meals a day...waking up at 4 am for chanting...walking barefoot all the time...there are certain element for success..celibacy is a MUST...a person using this method can also go to any of the levels of the spirit world to see what is happening there and report back (levels of hell...levels of angels...brahmas and even the buddha's in nirvana) the mater who taught me when I was a buddhist monk living in the forest in thailand said that when I can pass out thru the light door I then become the master...this is mastery already...just to be able to go out of your body and come back each time...it means you know there is no death...you become a place traveller (spiritual tourist) and then a time traveller (spiritual time tourist). hey check out "all inclusive consciousness theory" on my channel

@@Ethicsmusic I remember watching some american shows when I was young about a time tunnel...they may have gotten this idea from the actual human application which has been practiced for many thousands of years...I once had the tunnel as a steady image for around 10 minutes in meditation but soon after left the retreat and it never came back...now this is what is interesting...what if someone just projected the image of a glowing tunnel with a while light on the end onto a wall in a dark room? or what if someone invented goggles to wear and somehow folks could pass thru? I think some american indians called it the neirika (a cosmic portal or interface between ordinary reality and non ordinary reality...between this dimension and other other dimensions of existence)....I am sure many who have had ayahuasca experiences have had some kind of experience like this on the DMT...the dumping of DMT into the pineal gland makes it produce imagery and out of body experience happens...some people use ketamine for out of body experience...some go out on mushrooms and some can use a breathing with visualization method to go out and come back....it is also interesting that charles manson was able to leave his body almost at will...he had been locked in solitary confinement for so many years that he discovered a way to leave his body...he talked about being able to go far behind the walls of the prison... the garden of the mind (creating imagery for lucid dreams meaning you know you are dreaming and can control the dream like a movie director making a movie) and he talked about not needing to read because his thoughts are more interesting than anything he can read...what got me interested in astral travel is when I first went out at 17 involuntarily when near death....I then bought books on it...read the story of sylvan muldoon...a guy who had been locked away somewhere and put alone in a cell and in a straightjacket which he kept pissing himself in and he said the piss would burn into his skin causing so much pain that he left his body...when he came back he was then able go out again and went on to gain some control of the process....this is one of the most interesting sciences there is...what better knowedge is there that there is no death and your body continues regardless of this physical body?...actually better knowledge would be direct contact with God and access to deep spiritual knowedge which can be applied to the physical world....for sure the time machine is the human body if you know effective methods to go out and view things and report back...there have been psychic detectives who have solved cases this way too

@traida111

@@_Information_ I think the technology would over right that area of space. It would be bad if it ended up like the Philadelphia experiment. Maybe you would need AI computer to plot your destination, to put in a safely plotted spot. Apparently through my research I learned some stuff about teleportation. The concept is objects dont exist in locations, instead the location is a property of the objects. So if you find the vibration that a object has which determines its location you can just blast it with a vibration of the new location and it will exist there instead. I wonder if Time is also a vibration of the object. If you applied the technology to an antigravity ship you could teleport in many small steps making it appear you are moving at 3000 miles per hour, then do a 180 degree turn and continue in the opposite direction, but you would have no inertia because technically your ship is stationary and not travelling at all.

Or maybe you are right and you have to travel at the speed of light in some hyperspace that has no matter. otherwise you might hit a rock and blow up. Or maybe both are true.

@@traida111 no. What I'm referring to is how you can move through space; and time will relatively slow down. Travel faster than light speed and you would possibly travel back in time, but you have to also plot your movement through space if you want your end destination to be back on earth.

I havent watched the video yet, because i was thinking about this as well. Maybe i will just repeat what McKenna said in the video but i was wondering how if we are able to in a way “hear” and “see” our thoughts, when they are happening in our head is something to not take for granted. I was thinking on how, What if when you think about what youre going to do, for example, you are thinking about where you should go eat. You create the image in your head and see what you want and than decide through that process. You always have to visualize and create the idea of what you want to do first in your head. So what if when you do that, you are creating a whole nother timeline and universe where you are exisiting simultaneous, just for the purpose of simulating what decision you want to make. Think about that, youre visualizing something that hasnt happened yet? You are quite literally time traveling in a way. If you try to understand what im trying to point at with logic youre already lost. Sorry if my explanation is terrible but i was at work and this thought process has been stuck with me for a while and im starting to believe, that is the process of manifesting is it not? Maybe im just babbling but let me know. Now time to watch the video!

This is a fun story. What's interesting is that he later tells this story as a conversation with the intergalactic space mushrooms. In this version, he imagines everything on his own, instead of being told this information from the mushroom. It's a very good illustration of how I've long seen McKenna's "mushroom" is really just a literary character that he used to push many of his ideas onto his audiencess of 1980s affluent hippies. For example, if he states that every family should only have one child, the listeneers won't care. But if TM states that, "No, I'm not telling you this, the mushroom told me," then that same audience will immediately embrace it.

I agree absolutely that a lot of his talks were aimed at the pretentious, intellectual, pseudo-hippy types of 80's left coast California. I think he always tuned his talks accordingly and one can't really blame him. I think we have to take his apparent ambivalence with a pinch of salt though. He was obviously dying of a brain tumor and experiencing a mental decline in his later years. He addresses this himself in some of his last interviews. I do agree with your point that he used the mushroom as a sort of writers convenience though.

Totally correct I'd say. At the same time, The Mushroom is a very real independent character. ie When I was tripping years ago, I was 'shown' by The Mushroom the workings of nature. I could 'see' the wind like currents in warm water. I saw those currents push the sea down towards the beach. I saw the turbulence of the waves push the wind towards the hills past the beach. I saw the water molecules of the sea evaporate and get blown into the air, forming the clouds above me. Eventually I saw the clouds swirl around the bay and local fields, and then return to me, and then rain those same water molecules down onto my head and back into the sea... I literally saw all this via my own eyes and mind (though you obviously _can't_ see wind or individual molecules!), yet it was The Mushroom that enabled me to witness it, for sure! 😊 So yeah, it's from within your own mind/imagination but it's (The Mushroom) also a very real character/teacher/even a playmate! 😊 ✌🏼😀👍🏼 Just my personal take. But otherwise exactly the same as your explanation too. ✌🏼😉👌🏼

Time travel? Easy! Go to sleep. Wake up in the future. One big thing time travel enthusiasts forget is this: Going back in time, temporal displacement, also means spatial displacement. If you move through time you also have to move to a different location. In other words where will the earth be in the future or where was the earth in the past. Everything in space is moving. What is the absolute point of reference? Where exactly was this planet 10,546 years, 198 days, 14hours, 28 minutes and 19 seconds ago? Where exactly will this planet be 10,546 years, 198 days, 14hours, 28 minutes and 19 seconds in the future? Where exactly are you on the surface of the planet? A small error translating your position into the past or future could put you inside a mountain, deep in the ocean or out in space.

@ 25:20 listen for a few seconds. "There must then be in another Universe a white hole and the matter in the center of the Black Hole spurts into this other Universe and begins to define a new topology". We know about White Holes in 2021. We either just passed through a black hole/white hole, or we are passing through one. The interpretation on the calendar was wrong. It is not Dec 22, 2012. It is Dec 22, 2021 or Dec 21, 2022

I can imagine that the grandfather paradox would not be an issue if the act of traveling back to time actually creates a branched-off timeline. Any changes made in the past would therefore only happen in a timeline seperate from the one you are from and would perhaps even cease to exist once you return or could exist as any one of the infinite number of possible realities that exist simultaniously.

that's the only conceivable way time travel could work, even if you don't kill anyone just the fact of your appearing in this place is changing the past, making it something different, the moment you travel to the past it's not the past you knew, it's something else because a new object is interacting with it (you), if time is linear time travel would be impossible since it would be full of paradoxes, but einstein demonstrated time flows differently in relation to velocity and topology of space, if time was be linear it should be consistent throughout the universe shouldn't it? the fact that it can be locally perturbed seems to contradict that hypothesis. but honestly i think the idea of traveling back in time is just an illusion, a product of our imagination, the past exists in our minds only, how would be possible to recreate a past event? a moment happens and it's gone, forever, outside of our memories it doesn't exist, and if our reality isn't a simulation i really can't think of time travel as something feasible

I have tons of respect for McKenna but I'm surprised he didn't realize that time is just a tool of measurement like a ruler. It measures change and a time machine would have to be able to undo that change. Therefore it if it could undo change it would be able to undo all change and be able to travel to any point along the ruler.

You don't need a machine to time travel. There's versions of you all around you. young and old, all at different stages of life. Walk next door to the local coffee shop, there's a guy working there with 90% your life story, 90% same looks, different name. All it takes to time travel is to walk into one of these lives and offer a helping hand in times of crisis or maybe some good advice if you see one of them struggling. Not to say you should only aid your counter-parts. That my friends is being a true time traveler.

Our sense of the future is increasing. We normally simulated scenarios in our hunter gatherer existence, but then our planning capabilities increased as civilization was birthed. After the industrial revolution and now technological and information revolutions, our simulations, our time travel, our sense of the future is increasing in clarity, temporal distance, spatial size, and our access to it is more ubiquitous or widespread.

The multiverse vibrates on different frequencies. We are able to interact because we vibrates on the same frequency. The multiple realities that exists; exists on different frequency bands In short, to time travel between the present, past,, and future we must be able to hop frequencies.

Then the first time machine could only go forward and every other time machine would be anchored to the first? A beacon in time. Nifty thought. I think logic dictates if you went back and changed time then you would create a vectored universe separate from your original universe. Or enter a probability stream that already existed. You could escape the past, or future, but it still exists for the rest of the original universe. Like a computer being cloned from a backup of another machine. If you could change the past that would be like a restore to an earlier condition and then basically a restart of the timeline from that point. If that is possible then we truly do exist in a simulation. The xBox universe.

I love listening to him brainstorm & his humorous wit,I can listen for hrs & do, though he's wrong about the time machine can't go prior, to it's invention, I firmly believe, cause we're in a conscious muliverse in which dimensions fractle in all scenarios,so yes, folding spacetime to any point in both space & time is possible no matter where, the reason you don't see, the prime directives, the subtle guides, many great reasons we make up,as time goes by..time is not linear & I don't experience it as such, not as much as others seem to,at least: "Time is an illusion albeit a very persistent one" Einstein ;~)

There is a way in which not all information that is transferd from the future which enables things to continue without totally collapsing on itself, it would merge all things in a way, but also make way for new ways of being, thats why it should be tested privately.
