I met Dale Jr at ESPN when he filmed his "This is SportsCenter" commercial. He arrived with a small entourage (2-3 guys), whom HE DROVE from the airport to Bristol, CT. I was asked to greet them and show them where he would be filming. He got out of the car, walked straight up to me & put out his hand and said, "Hello, I'm Dale Jr.....what's you name? ("I'm Jim") "Nice to meet you, Jim. We're here to do a commercial today. Can you show us where we need to go?" I had to hold back a laugh. His group also shook my hand and introduced themselves. He then tried to open the door to the building....I had to jump around him and get there first. I gave him a look like, C'mon-don't make me look bad- he chuckled and said "Thank you very much." Most humble, friendly athlete of all the "superstars" I ever encountered at ESPN. Pure class. I didn't know all the family drama going on but thought to myself at the time, His daddy raised him right.

It's a shame that it's so difficult to tell if someone is marrying you out of love or greed. Sadly for the Earnhardt family, Teresa's agenda was personal gain. But she wasn't smart enough to pull it off and ended up destroying DEI.

That's typically what happens if you let women run things, most aren't very good at "steering the ship," but they LOVE money and junk almost as much as they love desperately trying to have kids or forcing you into a marriage that doesn't serve you in any way, shape or form. One of the biggest reasons this country is in the state it's in is the 19th amendment. The middle east is laughing their butts off at us, because over there, they don't even let the goofballs drive a car. As a guy in my 40's, I totally get it now.

Oh how sad. TERESA: I heard all she does is spend Dale's hard-earned cash in loan out his old private jets. Let's see 2005, she switched Dale and Michael's pit crew for no reason. 2006 she criticizes Junior. 2007 she purposely sabotages his engines because he decides to leave. 2009 she suspends the infamous 8 and never shows up to races and leaves and Nascar by 2014. And because she thinks she's so special and has earned the Earnhardt name to herself, she sees anyone who tries to use it in a way she doesn't like. God knows what she's doing to This day besides possibly ruining the museum. DALE JR: 2008 leaves for Hendrick. Creates his own Xfinity series team Junior Motorsports. Took a while to get going but by 2020, 48 wins with different drivers in the Xfinity series, two Xfinity series championships and GRVOTs (Truck Series), and one ARCA race win.And the drivers that have moved on to the cup are becoming successful. In conclusion, She better be proud of herself. She ruined a legacy.

I think SR was getting less upset in his older years and just let her have her tantrums. He should have shut that down but you never know what really goes on behind closed doors. If you go back and look at HER face you will see disdain from her especially when SR went to congratulate JR in victory lane. I know that SR set DEI up for the kids and not the wicked witch...He even told Darrel Waltrip on several interviews that he wanted to hand it down to the KIDS...But I don't think he meant for her to take it over like she did...she didn't have a CLUE as how to run such a team and she blew it all the way to her bank account. Had the kids gotten the reins then I think DEI would have become something...they had the talent and not just behind the wheel. The shop was on top of what was going on in NASCAR. France blew it and if SR had been around none of the weird stuff would have gone down...ANY REAL NASCAR FAN SAW THAT. Dale SR kept them in check and we all saw that time and time again. Dale SR left a huge hole in the sport, not just because he could wheel a race car but because he CARED A LOT about the Fans AND the Drivers more than the money.....JUST SAYIN'

I remember Steve Park. He wasn't doing to well in Nascar but Dale Sr. never gave up on him. He pushed Steve to improve and when he won his first race at Watkins Glen Dale told Steve "See that's what I'm talking about." He never abandoned any of his drivers. Even after his accident in 98 when he was out for a whole season, Dale put him right back in his car. He gave Michael Waltrip a chance in a new car when everyone else thought it was a bad idea. And he won the 500. It's sad but I don't even watch Nascar anymore. The heart and soul of the sport is gone, replaced with MTV style crap.

I remember Mark Martin being on the Dale Jr show. They brought up his years in the 8 car after Dale left. Mark said there were lots of inner politics and it was an argument with in the team over who owned it things like the naming rights. When Theresa was brought up Mark said he only remembered her showing up to a race twice and only called him once. Chip Ganassi bought out the Earnhardt name. He had to argue about keeping the number 1 font and dei stripes on the car. Even though it was the sponsors choice it looked too much like the Earnhardt car he was told.

"Dale had a life ,and family before you" Dale had kids, but he didn't have a family. Dale Earnhardt was one of the greatest race drivers ever, but he was a piss poor father. He abandoned his kids in order to race. Both Dale Jr and his sister were traumatized from an early age by Dale's lack of wanting to be a father in any way. They survived that mental anguish by clinging together. They still do. There were two things that were important to Dale Earnhardt, racing and Theresa. Dale Jr and his sister were a separate family from Dale and Theresa. You should read about the lifetime of psychological damage done to Dale Jr when his father dropped him off at military school because he didn't have time for him. I think Dale Jr will be traumatized until the day he dies by his father's abandonment. He cannot, however, criticize his father because of the universal worship of Dale from NASCAR fans.

I started watching Formula-1 and though it’s not perfect it’s been fun learning about it. It’s hard to catch the races on tv without paying for a special deal from f-1 but if your careful that you don’t see the results on the news you can watch highlights and the full race online a day after it’s over. I will say this I have just lost so much respect for that woman. She basically took her husbands legacy and buried it in the ground. I’ll bet junior is feeling such gratification that he has actually had success while Teresa has gotten the level of disdain that she so rightly deserves. I can understand going through a rough patch after a loved one dies but that was no excuse for that level of greed.

I don't like the bitch, but she's a real Earnhardt. As real as any wife. The second he married her, his kids from previous marriages had to take a step down the ladder. Spouse comes first. There's no way Earnhardt could have seen what was coming but if he did, I am sure he would have taken steps to put Kelly in charge. Dale was probably too young and involved as a driver at the time. But Kelly sure as hell could have run it the way Sr intended.

After Dale passed away in that crash my whole family and I just quit watching the sport. It’s nothing like it used to be. We used to make it A Sunday Tradition for everyone to meet up at the house with the largest tv and surround sound to watch the exciting race. After we lost the best driver we quit meeting on Sundays and that really made me sad. Couldn’t imagine that his wife would ever turnout like she did. So sad,

You missed Michael Waltrip's car in Daytona 2011. For the 10th anniversary of Mickey's 500 Win and Dale's death, he drove a black 15 car with Napa on the hood and wanted to use the DEI font and 3 stripes. He had to change the font slightly and remove a stripe, either as a result of Teresa or just to avoid her.

If napa wanted the car to be pink with purple dots for one race and yellow and blue the next that is what it would be he had no control over what the car looked like . Amazing to me how sometimes love can be so blind. She kissed Dale Sr's ass so of course he saw no wrong. She was absolutely horrible to the rest of the family and for that I can't believe he didn't see it. After he died obviously it wasn't his fault, but I have a hard time believing that she was always on her best behavior. Makes sense why they shipped those babies to military school. Dale Jr. and the rest of the siblings are way better off without that vile woman.

Great video! I think the reason she's so hated, besides her heinous actions, is because when Dale was alive and a few years after he was gone, we all thought the world of her. Like she was a family member. We all got slapped in the face by her. I can't even watch the Dale documentary without getting nauseous seeing her and hearing her voice. We can only hope that whenever she croaks, she leaves it all to Taylor and she'll get the family and family's business ventures back together the way Dale wanted.

@AccuracySpeaks

@theplug78 "Checking jobs" is a term many folks utilize in the construction industry that simply means you go out and measure applicable square footage, or whatever unit of measure, of materials you are utilizing for the task ahead and establishing a price on the job itself, hopefully yielding the business a profit. I have "checked" many jobs in my days. The term "checking jobs" I think would be safe to say that the term is one "southern" in nature as well. Being that the commenter was "checking jobs" in NC, between Concord and Mooresville, would lend to this theory. Being a neighbor from VA myself, we utilize the same language as well. I can't say for certain that the person that left the initial comment about "checking jobs" intended the meaning described above, but I'd say it's safe to say they did. Though never really a Nascar fan myself, I'd been to a few races in the 80's early 90's. It is sad to see where GREED has taken the sport! You squeeze "the people" too hard for too long and keep squeezing, finally, they'll have had enough and bite back very hard many times actually killing the hand that did the squeezing! We've seen it time and time again throughout history! Just to name one in addition to Nascar is the music industry.

I lived in Mooresville for about two years. My dad worked for a small company designing mostly NASCAR parts. The shop was right by Penske racing. My school was right next to one of the Earnhardt's family friends. One time he drove his NASCAR up to his house and parked it out front as I was driving up to the school. He came over to talk to us later that day and signed autographs and stuff. He is such a humble good man who had a lot of balls to do the same thing his own dad died doing. And because of who Teresa was messing with I hate her even more. And now I'm back to living in Texas again but Mooresville got me into NASCAR. I've never watched many of the present time races. But I looked back into the history and loved it. I hate how NASCAR is changing. And I hate Teresa.

@QemeH
5 жыл бұрын
It's not, obviously. Names aren't trademarkable. But you CAN trademark a company name that CONTAINS a surname. This, however, is only possible if the composite name of the company is more than just the name and a generic descriptor of goods and/or services. For example: "Jason's pizza" is not trademarkable, because pizza is too generic - but "Jason's Crispy Wheel of America" is trademarkable...

I'm not a huge NASCAR fan, but I loved watching Dale battle, especially at Bristol. DEI could have been a force, up there with Coach Gibbs, Hendricks, Penske, et al. Apparently, this person has no idea what the concept of "long-range thinking" is or how it works. Looking back at the events since Daytona 2001, Jr and Mikey have done fairly well, and all good wishes to them and the Earnhardt kids. The Earnhardt name will end up living for years to come in his fan's hearts, minds and souls. It was fun as a sideline observer to the Earnhardt fans versus Gordon fans, Labonte fans, all the other fans out there. It was a good show and an excellent product back in the day.
