После первичной пайки паяльником автор отрезает вспучившийся пластик вокруг клемы. В этом месте будет не герметичность, элекролит будет постоянно вытекать наружу. ECT... Now what this cause was the battery post to corrode and oxidize faster than what the warranty normally would cover which worked out with the pro rate exchange for new battery...which could be easily be verified by all the battery shopping carts, still containg good batteries at Walmart, AutoZone, Napa, Coast to Coast Ace hardware, O'Reilly's, ECT. Taking in how the battery, alternator and starter work all together in conjunction of each other... Wow what a market.

Just clean up the original post, heat the post till it starts to melt, put the mold over the post, then pour the liquid lead into the mold until it’s almost to the top of the original post. Heat the post until it blends into the liquid lead around it, then top it off with the remaining liquid lead. Spray it with water to cool it, which also shrinks the post a tiny bit so it will come off more easily. I don’t honestly know why they would go to the extra steps, which would probably make it weaker.

If the terminals get hot the terminal will melt the solder and fall off. Always crimp big amp connections, not solder

He didn't repair or replace the entire terminal. He soldered some lead onto what was left of the terminal. It'll also fail the first time you go to replace the lead to it.

Its a heavy equipment batt., Like a crane or excavator. A bad clamp not properly tightened will cause it to arc off a portion, or the entire post

Never seen this done ever!!! Had no idea a terminal could be repaired or replaced. Also never had one that was that bad because I maintain them so that they don't rust. If I ran into this situation I would go straight out and get a new battery. Every 3 to 5 years at the most, whether I need one or not. Don't trust the repair although even though it looks great.

Repaired lots of batts in Vietnam... cut post off, drill small hole in post screw in any small screw to hold new post. Make a mold with copper pipe, cut length wise, use hose clamp to hold it together. hold mold centered on post, pour lead to fill mold. when cool, remove hose clamp and mold halves. Its more work, but you get a batt post that lasts..

In one of the comments someone stated that they take their old battery and throw it in the ocean???? I had to put this out for people to read. Does that make sense to anyone? Not to me because everytime I purchased a new battery I always got money back for the core. Number one I don't know any battery shop that doesn't pay for the core. They recycle it and that's why they give you money for it not out of the goodness of their heart. Number 2 who in there right mind would put a battery of all things in the world's oceans ? The pollution Factor must be insane from the components. Either this person doesn't know what they're talkin about or they're just posting out of their ass. I really hope no one is that dumb to put anything like a battery in the ocean??? If so I hope his family feeds him battery soup !!!

Seems to me that the better fix would have been cleaning the original post and then putting the form over it and then pouring to fill the voids in the damaged post. Of course that’s something only worth doing in a major crisis. If your post is that beat up, I’m sure the battery is on its last leg anyway

This is extremely dangerous and should not be done. If you hit both terminals with any one of those items it will blow sending atomized hydrochloric acid airborne. This is how an uncle of mine lost an eye resulting in a glass eye for the last 35+ years.

Most automotive batteries are only good for 3 years. Yes they do last longer but generally speaking they only are good for 3. This fix seems like a bandaid until a new battery is purchased. I'm just thinking, if your terminal looks like that, then your battery probably is on its way out anyway.
