The guy who takes the photos in the mall is the same cop in part one that the terminator slams in the car. If he is still a cop, his photos are later used to show Sarah. He also wrote the screenplay.

I prefer this version, the theatrical. The extended versions does have some fluff extra scenes. However, there is one deleted scene I think is important.... after Arnie and Sarah patch each other up in the garage, the terminator instructs them on how to access the chip in his head, so they do. While he is turned off, John and Sarah argue about trusting him and trusting John's leadership. Sarah nearly destroys the chip before ultimately deciding to play it John's way.
@whoarocket

That is exactly how I feel on the versions too! I don't like a lot of the extra scenes in the extended one, and I really don't like that extended ending, but that discussion between John and Sarah is a really important scene I wish they had kept in the theatrical edit.

The Terminator and the sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day (one of the best sequels in cinematic history, and even better than the original, in my opinion) certainly hold up very well in this day and age. YES! This movie was an absolutely PERFECT sequel! Fun fact! The man who played the T-1000 (Robert Patrick) trained himself to the limit for this role. I wish Hollywood still made kick butt women characters like Sarah Connor. Hollywood used to make female characters we'd love and want to root for. It's not just they kick butt and we're strong. These women characters were feminine they would have self doubt in the face of what seemed to be impossible odds. They were smaller and weaker. Despite all of that they digged down deep and rised to the challenge to overcome the odds. Current day Hollywood they see femininity as a weakness. That's why they turn their female characters essentially into men. In actuality femininity is women's strength.

He was gonna be terminated anyway but T-1000s will always try to find a way to survive and adapt, just pure predator.
@NeuroticNicky87

There are loads of cool and interesting facts about this movie. Robert Patrick (the T-1000) was actually able to catch up to John's bike when escaping the Galleria and he had to learn to keep a blank face and not breathe too much because Terminators don't show emotion, pain, exertion or breathe. To create a digital skin for Robert Patrick they had him walk around in just his underpants with a 2x2 inch grid painted over his entire body. Terminator 2 was the first blockbuster that used a PC to create major 3D CGI effects as well as morphing multiple objects. One scene in particular was talked about a lot in the making of (which I watched back in the mid-90s) was the T-1000's head split effect, which had never been done before. The helicopter under the bridge scene was by James Cameron himself, as the camera crew were too scared that it couldn't be done safely. The stunt pilot told James Cameron he could do it so they went out and did it with no crew. The nuclear explosion scene cost more to make than the entire first film. Linda Hamilton (Sarah) can actually pick locks, so that was all her and wasn't faked. Sarah Connor's T-1000 copy was actually Linda Hamilton's twin sister Leslie and the same with the mental hospital security guard, they used his twin as the T-1000 copy. There is an interesting in-universe fact about the T-1000 prototype but I'll come back and edit this after you've seen the others, because although it's not relevant to the story it could be considered a spoiler.

Actually terminator can feel pain.....more precisely they know when they are damaged. As it said in the movie. Or maybe it was in the deleted scene.

Thanks for leaving in the scene in which the condescending psychiatrist Dr. Silberman sees the T-1000 walk through the bars, and then drops the syringe cap out of his mouth. He annoyed the heck out of me in the first movie.
