I will one day visit LA to see many of these locations myself, so thank you for putting the exact addresses in the video. The Terminator is one of my favorite films. I like how the first film had alot of horror elements to it and the fact it was a suspenseful mystery half way through the film before it turns into a complete action flick. It's also cool that most of the movie takes place at night. Sure some of the special effects are dated but the fact that this movie was made on such a shoe string budget it's actually very impressive. Stan Winston did a amazing job with the T-800 and you really believe there's a metallic endosekelenton underneath Arnold Schwarzenegger's skin. Casting Schwarzenegger as the Terminator was a stroke of genius because in the original concept James Cameron saw the Terminator as a chameleon who could blend into a crowd unnoticed. Lance Henriksen was originally going to play the part but when James Cameron met Arnold he realised his mistake and gave it to Schwarzenegger instead. Arnold Schwarzenegger sure can't hide into a crowd very well but it doesn't matter much. He brought this idea of an unstoppable killing machine just by being such a large muscular man.

The interior of the "robotics factory" was actually the old "Kerns" canning company that was located over here in the City of Industry 13010 E. Temple Ave. Since then it's been several other incarnations. The machinery seen in the film is obviously canning equipment, metal & steel presses.

Great video of my favorite Terminator movie. I still remember when I first saw the movie. I was at my uncle’s cottage in Northern Ontario Canada and he only had a small tv and a vcr for entertainment. So, when me and my family went into town for groceries, we saw that they had VCR movies for rent at the hardware store, so that was the movie I picked and my sister picked “The Wild Life”. That afternoon, we watched movies, and I watched the “Terminator” twice. I loved that movie, and as a 13 year old boy in 1984, I liked Bess Motta from “The 20-Minute Workout” ,who played Sarah Connor’s friend and roommate that got killed.

If I remember correctly Terminator 1 was also filmed mostly "rogue style", because they didn't have the budget to get the filming permits; they just went out with a crew and got the shots. The 2003 movie Lost in Translation also shot a lot of their scenes without permits, but that was shot in Japan where it can take months to get permits, so the crew just filmed and hoped they didn't get caught.

Makes me wonder if people in the "old #9" at the Huntington Park place, have any idea that's where Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor were hiding out 35 years ago? :)

I am from India and I watched this movie in 87-88 in what was then called as video parlours in dingy room and they had medium sized screen on which they projected the movies. But the surroundings didnt matter when we got to see Terminator on screen. I still remember the evening when we watched this movies totally awe struck. The scene that I still vividly remember is the motorcycle chase scene from part2. None of my friends has these memories of this movie which I cherish so I am sharing it here. Thank you so much for the video creator. I got to relive a tiny part of my childhood. Also watched movies of Van Damme and Jackie Chan in that video center. P.S: Also remember watching Seinfeld episode on newly arrived cable TV in which Kramer sips some hot coffee and sues the company coz his lips get burned I guess. The company is going to give him good amount of money but the lawyer starts with free coffee for life time and dear old Kramer gets all excited and accepts the deal.

I can't believe how quickly the years pass... thank you for the lovely memories from that beautiful time in 1984 😊 , the beginning of robotic era with the Terminator and the Transformers , the movie T1 is truly iconic, 1980s masterpiece! It's the best so far from all Terminator series, I remember watching it firstly with my dad when I was a kid, so touching to see its filming locations precisely now after all that time... It's a pleasure liking this video and subscribing to your channel, God bless you 🌸

The best acting ever seen by Griffith Observatory since James Dean in Rebel Without A Cause! Only surpassed by Sir Keanu Reeves in Paula Abdul's music video for the song Rush, Rush.
