Geronimo!!!! I can LITERALLY say that they will never make anything like this again. Top notch children programming. If you treat children with the intelligence they have then you shape their future. If you treat them as idiots then you have let down an entire generation.

The special effects were excellent for its time and the surely limited budget they had!

IKR, I wasn't even alive when this was made but I grew up watching the great Gerry Anderson shows on VHS in the 2000s and they really hold up well today as some of the best British SF. Probably the closest thing we have to Macross

The special effects were really cool but where was Terrahawks going as a series?

Part of me does enjoy the lighter and sillier elements of the show, but it tends to be specific things (such as Cy-star's wig falling over her eyes, it gets me every time, if only for the stupidest reasons, and the ENTIRE character of Stew Dapples) as opposed to the touting of the show as an 'action-adventure comedy', increasingly so over time. But I think I did enjoy the more serious plots and much preferred the idea of it being played straight, in the vein of the Super-marionation shows, instead of a comedy - I think part of the shows' middling success was the not only the gradual change in tone, but the fact that it appealed more to younger children at all, as stalwart fans of Anderson's work would have grown up watching his other series and then possibly viewed Terrahawks as a vapid move to abandon them in favour of a younger audience more inclined to buy all the toys. Perhaps playing on the low budget of the show, and playing it off as a straight-faced parody of B-movies and other poorly made Sci-Fi of decades past, like Danger 5, but without leaning too hard on the comedy button and launching the 'Play it Again, Sram' shaped missiles at the audience, would have made it work better for OG fans and kept its appeal to the kids of the 80's too 😅 (The one thing they always said is how scary Zelda used to be 😂) Great to see there's still a thriving fanbase for the show after all these years (and can't wait to see the fans of the original series go through the same feeling that OG Anderson fans had, when Kate Kestrel and the Terrahawks comes out 😏😅)

CGI can do fantastic action graphics; however I miss the elaborate shots of a good spaceship model. So the question is begged, 'Can the Italians make a good space fiction movie?' Sure, you will see hot chicks in scantily clad space bikinis... but never a good 'set' or 'fx'?

Italians are still struggling making a good ignition system, throttle body or instrument cluster for a car. Even attempts of their electronics in motorcycles are failure. Stuck on the ground forever. Magnetti Marelli... LOL! Don't get me wrong, beautiful country and beautiful people. But your electronics skills need help.

Gavin Curtis In the Arts & Sciences, Italians do interesting work. But it frustrates me that the culture that achieved the first telescope and flourished in early astronomy and mechanics.... can't create a space movie. But the Turkish sci-fi is worse.

Italians made DUNE (David Lynch) possible ... and that is an awesome movie with really good sets! It isnt "space fiction" but the ships they created were decent.

The model scenes set in space or at night were always far more elaborate than the side scrolling day-time shots. Probably due to the limits of not having a dark/black background concealing the obvious blue screen effects.

Sargent-Major Zero is the last of the series-0A prototype Zeroids. All his batch-mates were destroyed due to unprogrammed and unpredictable 'heroics' that turned back the First Alien Attack some 20 years before the show began. Dr Ninestein is completely exasperated by this characteristic of his oldest and most reliable Zeroid but, I think, he also recognises that this strange characteristic is what makes him so effective.
