The truth is that this is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. My friend just pulled in more than $84k last month alone from his investment with his advisor. That is how people are able to make such huge profits in the market.

I remember seeing a few elevator operators in old, elegant, art deco buildings. They wore uniforms like old-time movie ushers, with little aviation caps like an old-time flight attendant. They sat on little round metal seats that folded down from the side of the elevator and pulled on a big lever with a tee handle. They had buttons that controlled the doors opening and closing as well as to go up and down and how fast. Very cool-looking steam punk. But even I was startled to see them. It was rare. They were mostly women and a little bit self-conscious about the job since a lot of people were startled to see them and asked questions about it and made comments about how their job would soon be replaced with automation. Closest you would see something like that today would be a costumed ride operator at Disneyland. Their jobs entailed safety and keeping people calm and relaxed in the new-fangled technology. Of course, it didn't take long for people to get used to elevators without human operators, but at first, they were uncomfortable and appreciated the human "flight attendant/pilot". By the time I saw them, it was an oddity and passengers worried about riding in such old technology that still needed a human operator. I predict that will happen with cars. People will eventually feel unsafe sitting in an antique car that is operated manually. They will be placing their safety into the hands of a human they don't know. And no, none of the elevator operators would allow me, a child, to operate the controls.

I strongly suggest everybody to vote AGAINST the pay package and the incorporation in Texas. Both things would be severely harmful for shareholders. But I get it, many people have some kind of Stockholm syndrome, where people worship their abusers, and they just do what they are told, and then there's the other bunch who is severely un- or misinformed. Going forward, Elon should be kicked off of Tesla and he could retain an "honorary adviser" role, because he simply doesn't work here, he's scattered like leaves in a hurricane. He's a huge downward pressure on the company. He just can't execute. A new CEO who would put in the minimally needed 40-50 hours of quality work per week could do wonders. At last the company could fly! If you belong to the un- misinformed group, just read the Glass Lewis report.

I think Tesla should add a luxury trim option for those that want a luxury Tesla. They should have it exceed all other luxury automakers and make it profitable. Most automakers have a luxury option. My parents just bought a Cadillac Lyriq mainly due to the luxury feel. I have been talking up Tesla for several months and they test drove all of the models. They were going to buy a Model YP but changed their minds at the last minute after they visited a dealership and test drove a Lyriq. Telsa sales are flat to down when they should be increasing because EV sales yoy are up for the industry as a whole. I agree with Gary Black that they can't just do the same song and dance. They are under utilizing their production capacity and even scaling back because sales are not keeping pace with production and Texas and Germany have a lot more capacity. It's high time, Tesla pushes for a higher TAM thru more models or trims and definitely more advertising and education. I use FSD everyday but my wife won't even try it and my parents also say hell no.

Well I stand corrected. I'd whined that Elon's cavalier attitude, firing the entire Supercharging group, would make it harder to hire: who wants to work for a jerk, wants to work in a job they could lose at any time through no fault of their own? Apparently I'm out of touch. Elon's own statements that sourcing talent was a major constraint on growth: that's no longer the case. I still wish he behaved better. But investors should be relieved.

Matt, you're correct: China is dumping to hold a monopoly worldwide on batteries. They intend the same for EVs. This is China at WAR. If auto manufacturing ends in the EU, in USA/Canada, S Korea & Japan, then industrial manufacturing of EVERYTHING - NOT JUST CARS - will be undermined. In every industrial economy that HAS a major manufacturing industry, it's anchored by automobile manufacturing. It's not just the major brands at the top (there are 1-4 in each of those countries): it's the multi-tiered pyramid of manufacturing & service firms that support them. In Germany, VW BMW & Mercedes-Benz; in France Porsche & Peugeot; in Italy Stellantis: almost all EU manufacturing is at risk if those firms stop making cars IN EUROPE. Sure, Tool & Die-makers do work for other industries, but the kingpin is auto. Absent auto, it's a house of cards: it collapses. Ditto for steel supermarkets, rolling mills & foundries; for fastener manufacturers; for assembly & sub-assembly manufacturers... all the way up to major assemblers like Magna. Everything collapses. And everything WILL collapse: ALL 3 of Germany's auto firms & Italy's Stellantis have confirmed that they've capitulated, surrendered to China. Going forward ALL EV design, development & production has been sold off to China, outsourced to their Chinese "partners". They'll continue to make only ICE vehicles in the EU, until that ends. By law the last ICE vehicle must be sold by 2035, but already Brussels is talking about moving that date up to 2030, since it'll de facto have ended by then anyhow. Norway's deadline is 2030, but it's already shifted to 92% EV in new sales. With the end of the German, Italian & likely French auto industries, major manufacturing dies across Europe. Which should ensure no one challenges China politically or militarily: they won't have the ability to do so. Japan's auto firms had intended to do the same thing. Toyota denigrated EVs, lobbied hard against them, but admitted it needed one so outsourced manufacturing of the BZ, it's first. It didn't recon with Chinese hatred of the Japanese: they've thrown out all the US automakers. Mitsubishi & Mazda have already left China; Nissan & Toyota sales have collapsed in China & they'll leave this year or early next. Forget getting the Chinese to build their EVs, and forget sourcing batteries for their own builds. S Korea's Kia & Hyundai appear committed to building in Korea - or perhaps they're more realistic about Chinese hatred. But sourcing battery materials will still be a challenge. GM planned to do the same as VW: outsource EVs to China. Biden put a stop to it with the IRA. But GM is likely running a work-around: it's new EV & battery plants will be built in the US, but by their Chinese partners (SAIC, etc.). The Chinese partners will almost certainly do what they've done in similar circumstances in Canada & around the world: they transport in temporary Chinese labour to do the construction using Chinese-supplied materials. The parts & labour will all be Chinese: the EVs will be Chinese. As they roll out the door in Michigan, Ohio or Georgia GM will slap a GM label on them. That's not US-made! Count on GM to lobby hard for exemptions to allow this to happen. So far, Ford seems to be committed to building in N America (most likely Mexico) but even there they'll have to use a lot of Chinese parts: China has created a monopoly on so many critical components, starting with battery materials & batteries. Australia's economy has always been hamstrung by lack of an auto manufacturing industry. For a short while there was a half-hearted attempt to get auto firms to assemble them in Oz. It sorta worked. But the market was too small to support expansion and it was too late in the industrial cycle, with other Asian markets too far behind to buy exports. Australia has done remarkably well with other industries, but the economy there is essentially mining + some refining (neither are big employers any more), finance (banking), farming & tourism: that's about it. This is what the EU or US would look like absent auto manufacturing. Tesla is the ONLY auto firm in N America OR the EU that is committed to building locally, with local parts & components. It's invested in & is building a massive lithium mine & refinery IN the US; it already obtains a significant supply of rare earths, nickel & cobalt from an in-house battery recycling operation, and from the first US-based recycler. ALL western countries that HAVE an auto industry need to levy MASSIVE protective tariffs & must demand that their national car companies produce locally. If they want access to their local market to sell the product, it better be made there. That's not an unreasonable demand. The $ are available The US has been subsidizing fossil fuel companies - the wealthiest companies on earth! - with TRILLIONS of $USD in grants, tax breaks & subsidies: repurpose that money to subsidize battery mining, REFINING, EV construction & alt-energy production! There's no shortage of money to accomplish this. The biggest assistance government could provide isn't even money: we need to streamline & simplify the regulatory approval process for mining, refining & plant construction in all these countries. The asshats that are sabotaging Tesla's plant in Berlin are probably being financed by China, or Russia. Put half the $Trillions currently subsidizing Big Oil into materials refining & battery production/EVs, the other half into massively ramping up the Military. Again: China is at War with the US & EU. If we don't protect our manufacturing industry, China wins the war before a shot is fired. Exactly as planned! Canada is pouring money into subsidies for EV & battery production: good. But it's STILL subsidizing Big Oil - a dying industry that is anyhow enormously profitable. And Canada needs to dramatically improve the speed of regulatory review & (where appropriate) approval for mining & refining. Like Australia, it has vast mineral resources. Unlike Oz, it can't get them out of the ground. The worldwide mining industry is largely based in Canada: almost none of the firms involved mine/refine IN Canada. The bulk of their activity & assets development is done overseas, 'cause you can't get shit done in Canada. And Canada needs to dramatically up it's game in military development. Canada's army is well-trained, quite functional, far too small & very poorly equipped. We're maxed out just supplying our share of NATO forces in Europe. Australia has upped its game, will punch WAY above it's size - as do the Brits. Oz is buying 5 US top-of-the-line nuclear subs, is building more of it's own design. Canada has a tough time keeping one (1) of its 3 supposedly functional subs IN THE WATER (not active duty). We're building frigates to patrol the coasts, but they won't handle the Arctic. Tough to maintain sovereignty over the Arctic (which IS Canada's) if that claim, in a pinch, is dependent on US warships & subs that CAN operate up there. It's high time Canada started re-arming. We're going to need it. I think the big impediments for Canada are 1) bureaucratic: the Federal bureaucracy has become a shit show, can't get squat done & needs a shake-up; 2) money - but the money IS available, if we simply re-direct existing subsidies for Big Oil. If the oil companies can't make money in Canada with near-zero tax burden & massive subsidies for decades, fv

Very impressive offering, for people with fat wallets who want to drive the old-fashioned way. Porsche engineered the heck out of that car. Too bad Sandy Munro will likely not tear one apart. It will never sell many units at its price points, and Sandy can be tight-fisted with his bank account.

There is only one way to buy a Porsche! You dont even care what the car cost, just let them charge you whatever they want!

@@brunoheggli2888 can't argue with that! But it implies that the tech in the new Taycan may not help VW to compete in the mass market - which it must manage to stay in business. And if they can't catch up in software, they might fail regardless. Still, as a niche product, what they have done looks impressive. They aren't dead yet!

The unhappy folk are the ones that dont work at tesla. They were happy the day before they were laid off. They probably had loads of knowledge of their customers and Elon wanted to make a point. If laid off I may not be inclined to bring back my valuable knowledge may turn out to be an own goal not easily fixed. I went through two restructurings and they allowed folk to know they were at risk and managers to plan a migration. Elon is great but can make very expensive mistakes.

We need 10 megapack factories to move the earnings needle. And I wouldn't compare a human driver to a human elevator operator. The degree of complexity is about a million times more for driving. Also, am I crazy or does Matt have his hair parted on both sides?
