One of our local Tesla service managers took delivery of a Cybertruck and he told me that (a) Tesla was trashing the wheel covers to re-design them and (b) he requested a set for himself to see if he could fix them. Long story short, he fixed them and is now using them. He made small spacers for each one and now they don't rub against the tire. Tesla should have just done that instead of trashing them. Hopefully they just put them away to modify them instead.

Not really, I am not even trying to be that Tesla super defender. However no car companies mass produce a car perfectly. Tesla gets a lot of flack because they are in the lime light. However tons of other companies have issues and nobody says a thing. This is still not good and ALL companies should be making no mistakes. But the double standards are insane. Everyone is crying about these pedals, but IMO it is a good thing Tesla is recalling. An issue happened and they have a solution. It didn't take deaths to fix it. This is not always the case, Jeep had an issue with a transmission system that was malfunctioning and sometimes it would release the parking break after placed in park. It took people dying for a recall. Even then they continued this transmission to the next model and killed actor Anton Yelchin, from star trek. They claim it wasn't their fault, but it was the same issue that killed him. THEN it was a full recall for all cars with the transmission and it was discontinued. My point is, you said this because you are just believing hype. The reality is Tesla does make more mistakes, but not an insane amount more. Buy a truck from other manufacturers at this price. I promise a few defects will show under a microscope.

Interesting. I didn’t have any due-bill items (aside from the wheel covers), so just went out to check I didn’t miss a bunch of stuff, but no, none of the minor issues you had exist on ours. The front headliner is definitely a bit creaky if you push on it, so whilst the gap was even on ours, I can see that eventually needing something to make it a bit more robust.

@StalePhish
7 ай бұрын
Agreed! I recently put a new rearview mirror in my racecar where it's a bit al mirror, but when you shift into reverse, the entirety of the mirror turns into an HD backup camera. Massive oversight that they didn't do that from the factory on Cybertruck. They already have a wiring harness going to the mirror anyway because of the forward facing cameras. Maybe somebody will come out with a mod that taps into the CANBUS type network to grab the backup camera video and do a plug-and-play mirror swap.

Buying any "NEW" vehicle in its first year of production comes with some quality risks. Those first few months of production the manufacturer is getting processes in place and ramping up production. There will be "issues" until those initial bugs are fixed. I am glad that you are REPORTING these to Tesla and from past experience I'll bet that Tesla looks into each of the problems and tries to determine the root cause of the problem and will fix the problem with the supplier, packaging, delivery, installation or transportation. I hope Tesla looks at this video and uses it to diagnose and resolve these issues and prevent them from reoccurring on other vehicles.
